The original name was the German Workers Party in 1919, they added the National Socialist afterwards. I didn't know that, but it doesn't seem to matter concerning the connection of Nazism with socialism, unless the 1919 name somehow represented a non- a socialist party - which I'm sure it didn't.
Auschwitz had a sign that said "Work Makes You Free" - so what?
