As long as the fools in this country watch reality TV and ball games then it will be tough. I cancelled TV because $50 of your cable and sat/bill is divided up so CNN gets $1 a month, MSNBC and on and on. So you are paying for your serfdom by watching TV. Keep it up. The money I save, about $1200 over two years will go to elect conservatives.

If you have a hobby that you are skilled at, barter for other things. Your main job is what you make money at.
And cut down on buying things, so that may mean getting more ahead of time than you need at the moment to cut down on taxes.

Yep, I get Comcast cable; phones, computer and TV... I heard a couple of weeks ago that one of Comcast’s big wigs voiced his support of Obamascare. My son-in-law works for them too... I called him to tell him I was going to have to cancel because of their support for Obmascare, and ask that he not take offense, to which he said, “ none taken, I’m pretty fed up with them too”. But I will also reap some savings by canceling. Need to find the least expensive way to do phones and internet... suggestions anyone.

Good for you. For phone you could probably get a cell with T Mobile (German owned - I avoid any American company that is liberal). T Mobile has a $10 home phone a month if you have Interent. Alternatively, see if you can find $19.95 or $14.95 Internet and use Magic Jack which I think is $19 a year.
