A crazed collector may be behind the extraordinary theft from Auschwitz concentration camp of the "Arbeit Macht Frei“ sign, which was been recovered after a 72-hour nationwide manhunt by Polish police.
The iron sign — which means “Work Sets you Free” — had been split into three parts, each separate word wrapped in cloth and hidden in Polish woodland. Five men, aged between 20 and 39 from the Torun area of northern Poland, have been arrested and Andrzej Rokita, deputy commander of Cracow police, described them as non-political.
“We can say that none of the five are members of a neo-Nazi group,” said Mr Rokita. One suspect owns a construction company, others are unemployed. They are being interrogated in Cracow — which is responsible for keeping order in the nearby Auschwitz camp museum — and if charges are pressed could face up to 10 years in jail for the “theft of a cultural treasure of particular significance” and damage to property.
Museum authorities are pressing the police to release the three pieces so that they can assess the scope of the damage. In the meantime a replica will be placed on the arched entrance to the former death camp.

the 1st story contained both possibilities, but the headline presentation was “neo-nazis”. now the headline presentation is “crazed collector”. why the change in presentation? and why can’t they just report news anyway without the constant slants?
