GETS FORMER SEQUOIA CO. VP NAMED AS ADVISER TO U.S. ELECTION ASSISTANCE COMMISSION

Earlier this month, Obama made his first official move to corrupt and undermine the 2010 elections. The move consisted in the little noticed appointment of a technical adviser to the Technical Guidelines Development Committee (TGDC) of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC).

The importance of the appointment was explained at The Brad Blog last Monday.

The Official Press Release of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission read as follows:

U.S. ELECTION ASSISTANCE COMMISSION 1225 New York Ave. NW – Suite 1100 Washington, DC 20005

For Immediate Release December 11, 2009

Contact: Jeannie Layson Sarah Litton (202) 566-3100

New Technical and Scientific Experts Appointed to EAC’s Technical Guidelines Development Committee

WASHINGTON- The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) today announced the appointment of four new technical and scientific experts to its Technical Guidelines Development Committee (TGDC), which is charged under the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) with assisting EAC in developing federal voluntary voting system guidelines that are used to test and certify voting systems.

The following new members were appointed jointly by EAC and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST):

Thereupon it lists a series of advisers appointed, among whom is:

Edwin B. Smith, III, vice president of compliance and certification at Dominion Voting Systems. Before joining Dominion Voting Systems, Mr. Smith was vice president of manufacturing, compliance, quality and certification at Sequoia Voting Systems. He also served as the operations manager at Hart InterCivic and the senior director of operations at K*TEC Electronics. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology from Texas A&M.

Both Sequoia Voting Systems and Dominion Voting Systems have been at the center of infamous voting irregularities in different elections across the country, according to Brad Friedman’s article on the subject, which appeared in the Gouverneur Times at the end of November.

At his Blog, Brad Friedman explains who Edwin B. Smith is:

Smith is the guy who, after years of paying a crackpot contractor named Mike Gibbons to do this and that for Sequoia with loads of federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) tax-payer cash, assigned him to do an “independent” analysis of Sequoia’s touch-screen machines after they failed in NJ’s 2008 Super Tuesday election. That was just after Smith had sent a letter threatening two Princeton computer scientists with legal action “to stop any infringement of our intellectual properties, including any non-compliant analysis,” if they performed the actually independent analysis of the machines as they were tasked by NJ election officials to do. (Additional outrage/irony shortly thereafter uncovered by The BRAD BLOG: Sequoia didn’t even own the Intellectual Property rights to the machines in question. Rather, the IP rights were, and are still to our knowledge, owned by Smartmatic, a Venezuelan firm tied to Hugo Chavez. Sequoia lied to both federal investigators and state election officials about that relationship.)

After The BRAD BLOG exposed who Smith’s friend Mike Gibbons actually was — a Sequoia insider, as well as a drunk and a philanderer with an obnoxious Facebook page seeking a “well endowed blond nymphomaniac,” only to change the page after we’d outed him to feature a photo of him and George Bush Sr. and a professed love of Jesus Christ instead — Gibbons was fired. (He would be found dead a few months later, the actual cause of which we’ve never been able to ascertain.)

Smith was severely reprimanded at Sequoia for the embarrassing incident, and has now been rewarded by moving on to Dominion, which is in partnership with his old friends at Sequoia to supply the new, failed e-voting systems recently deployed, disastrously, for the first time in last November’s election — the one where the results of the NY-23 Special Election for U.S. House will now forever be in question. The Sequoia/Dominion contract to supply faulty, secret vote counting machines to NY-23 is worth some $20 million federal tax-payer dollars.

The Post & Email notes that the other appointees to the Technical Committee have qualified liberal connections: Iowa State Elections Commission and the University of Columbia. Neither are experts in computer software, or the forensic investigation of computer hacking.

A copy of the official Commission’s Press Release can be read at Brad’s blog. The Commission describes itself and its importance in overseeing the counting of votes in elections across the country, thus:

The EAC is an independent commission created by the Help America Vote Act. The EAC serves as a national clearinghouse and resource of information regarding election administration. It is charged with administering payments to states and developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, and accrediting voting system test laboratories and certifying voting equipment. It is also charged with developing and maintaining a national mail voter registration form. The three EAC commissioners are Gineen Beach, chair; Gracia Hillman, vice chair; and Donetta Davidson. There is one vacancy on the commission.

The appointment makes the commission much more able to “assist” the 2010 Elections, but not in the sense you and I mean by the word “assist.”

Finally, you can read the exchange between the president of Sequoia Voting Systems and Brad Friedman in the comments section of the article he wrote at the Gouverneur Times.

Except now there is evidence. Look at the precinct results in NY 23rd. How is it that the Conservative Party wins every precinct in a city, except one, in which he receives not a single vote? Something wierd happened.

Then we all should have gotten on the bandwagon years ago when the scumbags at Diebold were pawning off lame Microsoft Access software as secure enough for managing elections!

If Diebold had gone Chapter 11 then, then Sequoia would not have had the opportunity to do what dirty deeds it did in the last round of elections.

Neah. But all electronic voting should leave a date and time stamped paper trail...

Candidates will have to do what Chris Chrisie in NJ did - had over 300 lawyers at the polling places. He won fair and square that way and if you’ll notice - there wasn’t any shenanigans from the RATS.

Rush can broadcast from anywhere in the world - I did not mean to imply he would quit the fight, just move his theater of operation.

Besides, if they arrest him, a large portion of America would physically fight them.

Say, I seriously wonder why there are NO online articles about Mike Gibbons' death, nor can I find any obituaries for him; I wonder if this Mike Gibbons fellow is a deep cover FBI or CIA operative?

Well, I suppose that if the electronic voting machines are entirely rigged, that our intel agencies would be close to the perpetrators, ya know????

With the exception of a mention in a Houstan online mobile paper, there is simply no digital trail to Mike or Michael Gibbons, supposedly a native of Sugarland, Texas.

QUESION: Who is this Mike Gibbons, and where was he allegedly found dead and when did it occur?

We don't have to wait until Nov 2010, our first action should be to elect Scott Brown who is running for Ted Kennedy's seat in Massachusett next month. This would have 2 benefits: sending shock waves through the Dems and losing their 60 seat, veto-proof, majority. Make contribution at Brown's website: http://www.brownforussenate.com/press

Interesting. You do realize that were they to issue an arrest warrant for him and a large segment of the U.S. population physically fought back --- that all that would achieve is to correctly identified all Americans who staunchly believe in the Constitution and are armed & trained to fight?

What you are posing shows a dangerous way for them to correctly identify that which they believe to be the truly "dangerous" part of the population, the one part that could offer true resistance, were resistance necessary.

Thanks for posting this query, KJC1.

Brad from Brad Blog is the individual who has stayed on top of the Sybil Simmons story -- she is the woman who was hired by, I think, the FBI, to translate Turkish documents, and henceforth became a Whistleblower, who the U.S. Dept. of Justice several times would not allow to give testimony in a court of law.

Brad from BradBlog has occasionally filled in for far left radical progressive Mike Malloy of AIR AMERICA's The Mike Malloy Radio Show.

WHY is a far far left Leftie at all concerned about Obama getting control over electronic voting machines???

WHY is a far far left Leftie at all concerned about some man allegedly named Mike Gibbons who allegedly had a FaceBook account and who is now allegedly dead?

WHY is a far far left Leftie at all concerned about any of this --- and should we be deeply concerned about his own potential direct involvement in this scandal which he blogs about???

VERY confusing.

So you are stating that he used to belong to DU???

Thanks.

Xena Lee,

I find it enormously interesting that much of the material in the article originates in the Brad Blog -- I've frequently heard Brad on AIR AMERICA filling in for far far left radical progressive Mike Malloy who has interviewed Brad of the BradBlog many many many times about the Sybil Simmons whistleblower expose.

Do you not find it peculiar that a far far far leftist liberal is blogging about Obama getting control of the electronic voting machines????

AND why is Brad blogging about a Mike Gibbons who allegedly died but there exist NO online news articles or obituaries about him??

I think that this issue should be one of concern -- due to who is perpetrating online blog entries about it.

Why is HE concerned, and how should conservatives react?

Hope Glenn covers this. When you add in the Soros Secretary of State program, Census counting of illegals, citizenship fast tracking for Muslims, Stimulus spending directed for dems, probably many other initiatives, it is a real concern.

Glenn is good at exposing the big picture

What of John Charlton from the Post and Email? I checked the article written by Brad Friedman on the evote machines (NY-23, Sequoia and the Private Corporate Takeover of Your Once-Public Democracy)? Is this the "Brad" of "Brad's Blog"? Perhaps he is, but I don't think that he is planting false information here.

I believe that the KOS crowd is still angry about the vote counting from the Florida vote count. They think there is vote tampering too. In his angry piece on the Evote scandal, he makes snide asides of Glen Beck and the Republican candidate in the NY 23 race. Setting aside the politics, vote scamming is a real enough concern. The government publication seems real enough. I think we should watch this.

Thanks, nachum, that makes perfect sense, and it would also explain why Greg Palast, author of THE BEST DEMOCRACY THAT MONEY CAN BUY is frequently interviewed by radio talk show hosts on Air America.

I've heard Brad from Brad's Blog several times and he's quite interesting; also, I find the Sybil Simmons whistleblower case perplexing, and he has followed it very closely for a very long time.

I think a large portion of the country will physically fight them anyway if they ram this unconstitutional government-mandated insurance scheme through, since they have ignored the will of the American people and will no doubt continue to do so. They have used bribery, blackmail and chicanery and have shown those of us that are paying attention that they are crooks/criminals, liars and theifs and as such, are not worthy of holding the office that they have betrayed. They all took an oath which they have also betrayed. And smirkingly, at that.

If ‘they’ target any of our conservative icons, it will just further inflame those of us that are already so mad at the federal government that we’re willing to walk away from our homes and march on DC.

As for ‘them’ being able to correctly identify us at that point.....

uh...yeah. They’ll figure it out when they see us coming.
