A few years ago, I accepted global warming theory with few doubts. I wrote several columns for this paper condemning what I thought were unfair attacks by skeptics and defending the climate scientists.
Boy, was I naive.
Since the Climategate emails and documents revealed active collusion to thwart skeptics and even outright fraud, I’ve been trying to correct the record of my earlier foolishness. In one of those columns, I even wrote: “And see Real Climate (www.realclimate.org) for global warming science without the political spin.”
In fact, Real Climate was and is nothing more than the house organ of global warming activists, concerned more with politics than with science.
My mistake was assuming only the purest of motives of the global warming alarmists, while assuming the worst of the skeptics. In fact, the soi-disant moralists of the global warming movement can also exploit their agenda for profit.
Climategate jolted me into confronting the massive fraud and deception by top global warming scientists, who were in a position to twist the peer-review process in their favor, and did so shamelessly.

Totally off topic, but my wife is on the phone with her cousin in San Diego California, and at 4:10Pacific she had an earthquake, not anything REAL big where she is but she felt it, it shook pretty good and her dogs are STILL upset. Any California Freepers know more????

Boy that’s the truth. Nothing but human interest crap about how things are for Mexicans. Used to get the sunday paper for the coupons. Not anymore.
Kudos to Fikes, unlike so many unethical and lazy journalists that simply recite talking points about GW, he looked at the issue again with his brain engaged and saw that it was all smoke and mirrors.
Now if we can only get other journalists to join him.....

I am not, however, counting on Schwarzenegger ever waking up and having the guts and integrity to do what this author, Bradley Fikes, has done. Whew, what a useless blockhead Arnold turned out to be.
Hello, folks. This is not a military-related thread but it comes from North County Times, whose Mark Walker has been reporting on one fraud, the “Haditha massacre”, and I thought it might be of interest to you that another of their writers has seen through an entirely different fraud.

I’ve run across Brad Fikes a few times. He often posts at Romenesko and Neiman Online (both sites frequented by newsies) and is often critical of the Dinosaur Media.
Good for Bradley Fikes for admitting his error. The comments after his article are interesting and he followed up with a couple posters who still were believers of the scam.

I thought there was still some competition in our News Media....
What about the New York papers,....doesn't Murdock have one of those other than the Wall Street Journal...not sure that they are doing all that much either.
