Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) pointed out some rather astounding language in the Senate health care bill during floor remarks tonight. Actually, Reid is wrong.

Any Congress can overturn the actions of a previous Congress.

This only shows that Reid is stupid.

Yes, I was wondering how a statute passed by Congress could require a super-majority to repeal it. That would seem to me to be obviously unconstitutional. But then again are we even operating under a constitution any more?

Unconstitutional!

Could they be deliberately sabotaging the bill?

The whole thing is bizarre.

While they’re at it, maybe they can extend their terms of office. They’ve ignored other parts of the Constitution.

as I’m watching the video, seems like the parlimentarian is confused. DeMint continues to press him.

Good grief.

Nope. The Dems don't care about the Constitution and the GOP enables them.

The whole lot of them should be tarred and feathered on the Capital steps.

A wedgie and a royal flush would bring Reid into line. Televised of course.

Even if Harry thinks it can’t be repealed, it can always be defunded. I’m not sure how many people will volunteer, then have to pay for their own office and not have anyone to speak to.

All righty then, we’ll just have to elect 67 conservative senators. Like eating an elephant, “one bite at a time”.

Better yet, the Senate should simply abolish the House of Representatives, the Executive and the Judiciary and be done with it. 100 Kings for Life.
