President Obama and our first lady have chosen a lovely ornament featuring China’s mass murderer, Chairman Mao, to adorn our national Christmas tree at the White House.
Though this is a slap in the face to every American, the Mao ornament is not a surprising choice – considering the eerie parallels between China’s Great Leap Forward and the path Obama has put America on today, as described in Chairman O and America’s Great Leap Forward.
Joining Mao on the White House tree are a few other ornaments that also mirror the mind set of the current inhabitants of the White House.
There’s a lovely bauble featuring a drag queen and another cutting edge ornament showing Obama’s face superimposed on Mount Rushmore.
Considering Obama’s hostility to Christianity, as shown by his celebration of every religion except Christianity, Americans shouldn’t be surprised. After all, the first thing any successful dictator must do is banish God from the public square and make fealty to the state primary.

The WH line is already passing the buck, stating that the ornaments were part of an invitation to local artists to decorate the tree and that the WH had no knowledge of the specific offerings.
My response to this (other than BOLLOCKS!, of course) is: Soooo, it didn’t occur to *anyone* to screen the offerings in case something inappropriate for the WH came up> I mean, what if it there had been a Swastika-themed offering? Or a depiction of the KKK or the picture of some famous serial killer?
At best, we’ve got amateur hour at the WH again, folks. At best.

Obama won’t wear an American Flag lapel pin but he’ll hang a Mao Christmas Tree ornament? And who would ever think to market a Mao Christmas ornament? There is no disgrace, apparently, too low for the Obamas to stoop to.

I don't see it that way. It seems to me that a majority supports socialism/fascism -- whatever 'ism' you want to call what is happening. I think we have a very obedient citizenry. Many Christian conservatives, local business leaders, solid citizens, do not want to rock the boat too much, and are FAR from any kind of drastic action. Someone on Rush yesterday suggested that every small businessman ought to lay off half his/her employees so the $$$$ of Soc Sec and Medicare witholdings would not flow to Washington, saying a month of that would starve them out and force them to negotiate. Perhaps it would, but no one is going to do that. In other words, no one is going to stop sending money to Washington. In other words, if healthcare goes into effect, how many people would perform civil disobedience by not paying their taxes? My father always used to say if 5% of Americans would stop paying their taxes, the system could not continue. But it will never happen. People have children, and they aren't about to jeopardize the wonderful lives their children have, to try to take a risky stand. I think we suffer dictators very politely. Right now, some radical wacko has designed the decorations for the White House tree, and they have pictures of Mao and transvestites and etc. on them. Is anyone smashing it? No, Americans are very polite.

Putting Mao pictures on Christmas trees is not illegal, nor it it against the law, nor is it against the constitution. The public can show their disapproval of that by sending 0bozo's poll numbers crashing down, which they have.
However, installing a communist dictatorship in America however, is against the constitution, against the law and illegal.
For you to even attempt to compare the two, and conclude that because the masses didn't go and smash 0bozo’s Christ tree, so therefore Americans will sit idly buy and let a communist dictatorship be installed in this country, is ridiculous.

I offered that scandalous incident as an example of how polite Americans are. I am saying that we accept every little opportunistic increment politely. In every school district, many churches, the statist propaganda is expounded. I am 62, I've been seeing this for 30 years or more. I haven't yet seen any retreat on the part of the left. They ooze into every crevice, and if blocked in one area, they advance in others. They blanket the society with their statist mentality. Even Conservatives accept some of the viewpoints, especially younger ones who have been brought up with environmentalism and diversity.
How do you define a communist dictatorship? In other words, at what point would you say, "The communist dictatorship is in place." ?
I would say that we are WELL along in unfree socialism now, and there is no armed rebellion. Some estimates say that government already pays 60% of all medical payments, and they regulate insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and medical provider licensing, and more, up the wazoo. By communist dictatorship, would you mean armed soldiers on the streets of towns? At that point, it's a little late to take a stand. At what point do you draw the line? What event will give you the sign that NOW is the moment to stand up and stop the takeover? You say when they do something illegal. Well, illegal is only illegal if you can find a court and a judge to rule it illegal. Was the Kelso ruling "legal"? Are all these gun control laws "legal"? What about all the horror stories about illegal property rights violations by various government bodies? Whole books have been written about violations of rights by our governments.
I am saying that my opinion is that conservative Americans have too much to lose right now, to risk jail and armed violence, or to sacrifice their hard-won middleclass lifestyles (which I admire, it's a good thing). And my belief is that at the point that little is left to lose, it will be too late to prevail. I hope I am very wrong and you are very right.
We had armed soldiers in the street right here in New York after 9/11, and on the subways and train stations. Saw them all the time myself.

A communist dictatorship is first of all a dictatorship, meaning there are no elections.
My memory is not too great, but I seem to recall we just had elections in New Jersey and Virgina last month, and the Republicans won, by a huge margin in Virginia, and won in New Jersey despite Jersey being a strong Democratic party stronghold that hasn't voted Republicans since 1993/94.
Thats not what I call a dictatorship.
Picture the outrage from Olbermann, Media Matters et al if Bush had an ornament of Hitler.

I’m thinking a substantial percentage of the artists invited to participate were trendy leftist types seeking to make a “statement” or some such nonsense. I’m actually surprised there wasn’t something Maplethorpe-esque on the tree, to be honest.
Come to think of it, though...it *would* be interesting to find out exactly who did the Mao ornament.
