I did Midnight Mass at the Vatican in 1992. Our tour guide told us (there were about 25 of us) to hold hands and run across St Peter’s Square on into St Peter’s so we could get good seats! St Peter’s Square is huge, several NFL football fields across and deep. It was a mad dash getting in. We were like a flying phalanx! No one stopped us. We could’ve each had AK-47’s under our coats.

This story made me cringe. I hope security is better than what I encountered. God bless the Pope!

What the H@ll is the matter with people? A small frail old man is knocked down on his way to celebrate a mass for the birth of our redeemer and to pray for peace in the world. How could anyone have a problem with this? No one would have done this in the 60s or 70s. There was too much respect for the Lord and the people that strive to deliver his message. Now evil is afoot and becoming ascendant. Rough days ahead.

I’m not a Catholic, but his type of attack is leveled at all Christians, not just Catholics IMO. Even if this person did have a personal beef with Catholicism or the Pope, an attack of this type inspires nut-jobs to do things to the leaders of other religions.

It should be resoundingly condemned!

Frankly, it angers me. There’s no place for this nonsense.

There are many with sick dark hearts who a fixated with destroying Christ’s Church. We see a few of them on this forum. They are often just useful idiots for the evil one, but sometimes he owns them. Most times their method of attacking the Church is written or verbal. The hatred they spread will undoubtedly lead to physical violence such as this because Satan consumes their hearts until there is no room for His love anymore.
