In about 1950 my mom shot and killed a black guy while he was breaking down her door. She was home alone with my oldest brother(a little baby at that time)The black guy had multiple arrests and convictions for burglary and one for rape. The local cops wanted to give her a medal. Blacks drove by yelling and screaming, waving signs, calling her a murderer, etc. My mom was an immigrant from Germany. The local prosecutor was jewish. First question out of his mouth was to ask my mom how many jews she had killed. My dad almost killed his first, and only jew at that point. The cops held my old man back.
That was 59 years ago. Nothing new under the sun.

I was very fortunate. I was attacked by five guy (who happened to be black) when I was at Cecil Field, FL back in the Seventies while in the US Navy. It was an seemingly, random attack that was not for robbery in a heavily populated area, with race as the apparent motive.
I was not hurt (they had been drinking, and I think did more damage to each other than me) and I managed to escape after a minute or so of the assault when they let up for a few seconds.
I don’t think I would have developed prejudicial attitudes, but who can say? None of us would think that would be the case, but I wasn’t raised that way.
But what really sealed it for me is when I immediately went to my supervisor who was black and told, him, his first response was: “Do you want to go find these guys and kick their asses?” (AD1 Woods was a good man...:)
I couldn’t have identified them anyway....which I hear is pretty common for assaults like that. But the fact that my supervisor was going to, by default, side with me was a powerful thing.
I think you misunderstood my post. I agree with you 100%.
That was 59 years ago.....3 years ago an innocent White kid was beaten unconscious by a grouop of 6 Black youths in Jena, Louisiana. They’re still celebrated for it in the media (last month I saw Katie Couric extolling their virtues).
I've also lived in Indian Villages where I was the only White Boy, reverse racism of sorts and it does one good, being the hated minority for a year or so. I would never view Indians in a negative light, because I began to see the good in their society too; understand their culture. It was a good experience.

Saying two kids are going to grow up hating black people because someone who happens to be black shot their father does no credit to those children or their faith. Hey, maybe they’ll grow up to be cops instead? Or doctors? Or nurses?
I doubt they could get away with officially calling it a “white service” and a “black service.” I assume it’s unofficial, but a matter of whites and blacks each choosing to worship with their own kind? If so, that really proves that people, white and black, liberal or not, will choose to self-segregate every chance they get.
No profit in healed racial wounds see J.Jackson and any black in public office.
Fast forward to Central California. In our schools there are blacks to hates Mexicans. They hate Mexicans because a lot of the Mexicans are here illegally. Because they're here illegally, they can take jobs for far less wages than whites or blacks can. The blacks have their gangs, the Mexicans have their gangs. Both groups are fed from the public gvt. teat, which makes those of us middle class people of all colors resent them because it seems we're the ones paying all the taxes. The Mexican kids I teach use "Hindu" as a racial slur, and use Spanish, but not in my classroom. My little 9 year old geniuses have caught on to the fact that English is Power, especially economically, so they have a higher motivation to learn.

This is about reasonable folks seeing a preponderance of continuous group behavior by some racial or ethnic or religious or sexual preference or gender advocacy groups and forming an opinion of them collectively based upon the empirical observation....which technically is sort of a bulwark of conservatism (realistic interpretation of the world around oneself).
We temper that with an idealism based upon the exceptions we know to exist and the hope that this will improve and maybe one day become the rule.
However with much of black thug culture , lower class white thug culture (wigs), urban latino crime and cultural disintegration, homosexual deviance and advocacy, Islamic militancy, and the historical socialist bent of some groups it has become increasingly harder to balance that hope with the crushing reality that is destroying our once proud however flawed collective culture that even if racially insensitive fostered culture for all races and other groups that was more conducive to simple decency and common sense and faith in a creator and in the end when needed as in World War Two...strength.
If this is how racists are made then so be it...unfortunately.
Viewing our national culture/traditions and western civilization always through the prism of racial discrimination and redress is a fool's bargain designed for the weak of spirit who need a crutch that requires no effort or sacrifice in order to feel morally superior to others even while actually lacking any true morality of personal behavior. It will kill us in time. We are well on our way. I pray folks wake up before it's too late.
