Nigeria's information minister says the airline bomb suspect "sneaked" into Nigeria the day before his alleged Christmas Day effort to blow up a plane over Detroit failed.
Information Minister Dora Akunyili says Nigerian citizen Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab entered his home country on Dec. 24 and left the same day to board a flight to Detroit via Amsterdam. She did not elaborate or say where Abdul Mutallab entered Nigeria. She says his father is in deep shock and had expressed great regret.
On Saturday, U.S. officials charged Abdul Mutallab with trying to destroy the plane. A conviction on the charge could bring Abdul Mutallab up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Could you imagine being the parent of this piece of excrement? Probably spoiled him rotten is my guess.
Let the Warren Commission look into it.
Daddy turned him in to avoid loosing his own visa for the UK and US. But, I bet he was still giving him money.
at least it also cost him his nuts
It’ll probably be 10 before this goes to trial....
IMHO this young Jihaddi didn’t “sneak” those explosives onto the plane at all; I suspect that some of his colleagues in Jihad who have infiltrated the Airline ground services likely hid it on board under cover of “cleaning” the selected target aircraft - probably in the loo, where he was reported to have spent about 20 minutes (recovering it) just prior to his attempt to set it off.
It was by the grace of God alone, IMHO, that the device misfired and the perp was able to be taken out before he could attempt to re-ignite it by a brave and vigilant passenger.
That heroic passenger who intervened, by the way, can probably expect a multi million dollar law suit from CAIR any day now, so we might want to take up a collection for his legal defense in advance.
How well vetted or searched are those food and cleaning service people? What percentage of them are Islamic?
It seems that I have heard that a large number if not a majority of them at most major airports seem to be.
Is that by mere chance... or malicious design?
Does anyone think to search the bathrooms or other public / private spaces in the aircraft where items can be hidden and discretely retrieved by on board terrorists prior to flights?
Can hidden spaces in such areas be rigged so as to indicate if they have been intruded into or violated? Could they be alarmed to set off a warning to the crew if they are opened or broken into in flight?
I think that the crew should be allowed to monitor via remote video what goes on in these “private” spaces if they have the slightest suspicion about what’s going on in there.
Islamics will and regularly do use our respect for the privacy of others as a weapon against us, and laugh as innocent American citizens are getting an anal exam by the TSA Nazis while they have their bombs and weapons planted on board in advance by their comrades who have infiltrated the support and maintenance crews.
That just makes way too much sense for our blundering, corrupt gub’mint to take notice of it, of course.
It also sounds to me like there are a about a million people on the govt list who should be on the no-fly list.
Some of those names are probably rich people with connections, like this twerp, but it is time to look after the rest of the world..screw the people who can’t stop communicating with terrorist organizations.
I have noted “seals” on components in the airplane lavs. They are there to warn if any of the compartments have been opened by unauthorized people.
I wonder how they will prevent people from accessing their hand carry that is stowed under the seat in front of them.
Sooner or later they will have to start strip searching everyone, or start profiling.
One has to start with the fact that every thing in and about Nigeria is corrupt. Diogenes wouldn’t even bother trying to find an honest man in that country. As for the father, the only way you get to the top in Nigeria is by being crooked.
A friend of mine who worked for the UN for several years, said the bribes in Nigeria started at the exit door from his arriving airplane. Said it was the most corrupt country he ever visited.
That conjures up a scene from The Godfather.
