Posted on 12/27/2009 4:38:19 PM PST by raybbr
As the lone journalist on Sunday's Meet the Press roundtable (with Newt Gingrich, Michael Bloomberg and Deval Patrick), NBC's Andrea Mitchell insisted the Obama Doctrine has borne fruit, but it is not perceived yet -- though the President has already united the world behind the United States.
Citing all those who camped out for the Sarah Palin book signings, Mitchell denigrated her appeal as evidence of how they are so hungry for a symbol for anyone who can give them answers it shows there's an anger out there she hasn't seen since George Wallace in 1968. And that, she maintained, is the angry populism which is not fact-based, it's just furious at everybody; angry at Democrats, at Republicans. (Apparently, favoring conservative policies and rejecting liberal big government spending is not fact-based.)
Ruing the tea party has higher numbers in our last NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll than either of the other traditional parties, Mitchell, NBC's chief foreign affairs correspondent and host of MSNBC's weekday 1 PM EST hour, declared that does frighten me. While she acknowledged this spirit of America is so large and embracing, she feared there is an angry subtext because of economic dislocation that is very, very worrisome.

I actually was looking for Bloomberg's quotes from this round table.
This is what I was looking for:
BLOOMBERG: Well, the economy has certainly turned around. Its stopped going down and its slowly coming back, and itll be a long time before we get to where we were three years ago. But you talk about the last decade, and, and Andrea brought up 9/11 as sort of the defining moment of that decade. There are two things that we did not work on and, in fact, one have gone the wrong direction during the last decade, which will dictate the economy for the next decade, and thats immigration and education.
BLOOMBERG: And education -- and Newts been out there campaigning around the country. The president says its number one priority for him, hes got Arne Duncan , whos a great secretary of Education, working on it. But unless we give our young people the kind of education to compete in the global world, we cannot survive...
PATRICK: Hear, hear.
BLOOMBERG: ... certainly cant survive with the -- with the kind of jobs we want, with the benefits we want for our people.
And immigration, were committing what I call national suicide. Somehow or other, after 9/11 we went from reaching out and trying to get the best and the brightest to come here, to trying to keep them out. In fact, we do the stupidest thing, we give them educations and then dont give them green cards.
Somehow Bloomberg got "immigration reform" mixed in with the the insurance reform bill.
The liar. You know, the one NBC didn’t want to testify at the Scooter Libby trial. So they sent their attorney to sit behind Patrick Fitzgerald.
Poor Andrea..hey Andrea, hows your hubby Greenspan doing..why don’t you go and ask HIM the tough questions you jerk!
All she needs are whiskers and a tail. The perfect DemocRAT.
This is such ripe material for EL Rushbo, too bad he is on vacation!!
Umm, but that “Ayers appeal” and “Rev. Wright” appeal and that “Mao appeal” DON’T frighten you, you jackass???
I don't entirely disagree with Bloomberg on this part. We are being idiotic when we educate that world's brightest minds who are invited here to enjoy the best education available, then we kick them out out of some misplaced fear of competition - while at the same time allowing the dumbest of the dumb to pour into our country unabated through our US/Mexican border.
He makes a valid point about keeping the talent that we've educated, but he forgets the other salient part of the equation. We should retain those who graduate from US schools, especially those graduating with advance science & engineering degrees. If those people are encouraged to return to India and China, it only hurts us in the long run.
Maybe ask this guy...
MSNBC is the perfect toilet for that fagged-out old scumbag Mitchell.
Oh yeah, try to associate Sarah Palin with George Wallace...nice try, Mrs. Greenspan!
So how many times did Governor Palin stand in front of schools doors to block black students from entering?
So we now know the focus groups didn’t react well to ongoing Nazi references, but Wallace must work as a code-word for racist...
Slobberring worse than usual, even for her.
A dumb fungus.
I am going to take that quote, translate it into Japanese and Chinese and show it to all my friends in Tokyo today. Maybe I will take a camera and get their facial reactions.
Man... that would be a HOOT!!!!
Andrea is another over-the-hill witch who’s jealous of Sarah, just like Martha Stewart and the gaggle of other democrat geese.
IIRC, Wallace was from a different political persuasion and party...
LOL! She passed menopause 3 face lifts ago.
The depth of the ugliness of the soul of an evil woman like Adrea Mitchell, will always come through in her eyes. 'nuff said.
Is she on some kind of drugs? What in the world is she talking about?
And that, she maintained, is the angry populism which is not fact-based, it's just furious at everybody; angry at Democrats, at Republicans.
Dam just think what things will be like in November. What a clueless bunch of dolts, they had better get out of the belt way and see what is going on (facts) or they will be hit like a ton of bricks come November.
And the safe schools czar?
All these people are just fine with ugly andrea?
NBC’s Andrea Mitchell insisted the Obama Doctrine has borne fruit, but it is not perceived yet — MMM...NOT PRECIEVED YET??? IT MAY BE TO FAR REACHING FOR US COMMON FOLK TO UNDERSTAND
though the President has already united the world behind the United States.
WE CAN SEE THIS FROM COPENHAGEN, YOU LIE!
Mitchell there’s an anger out there she hasn’t seen since George Wallace in 1968. SHE DELIBERATLEY MENTIONS WALLCE TO DRIVE A WEDGE OF RACISM INTO THE ARENA And that, she maintained, is the angry populism which is not fact-based.
JOURNALISM IS FACT BASED MISSY, AND YOU ARE NOT! YOU LIE AGAIN!
Poor thing has it all wrong.
There is an angry MAJORITY because of the lack of accountability of our elected officials, the lack of representation of over HALF of our LEGAL citizens, the lack of concern for the safety and well being of We the People from another terrorist attack and the steady march towards socialism/communism that seems to be gaining speed on ALL fronts.
Go ahead dumba$$ and keep blaming the economy. Keep getting it wrong.
Unless she was covering presidential campaigns her first year out of college she has NO professional memory of the Wallace campaign.
So, she's not even a good liar.
Instead, we talk about other things, some laudable, some desperately that we have to do. And I will say, Ive given the president a lot of credit for taking on the issue; but its Congress thats writing this legislation, and they are not willing to go near the things that will contain costs, which is immigration reform, tort reform, asking the question of whether or not we can afford certain tests and whether they really are cost-beneficial.
How he ties immigration reform (basically opening the gates) with keeping down costs of health care is beyond me.
Bloomberg's other quote (that you agreed with) is a dodge. That's not the hot button issue that immigration reform is. He lumps them all together and uses the broad brush to hide his real intent - giving illegals (of which there must hundreds of thousands in NY city) a path to citizenship. That is something he has espoused in the past.
PHILADELPHIA The economy of the country's largest city and the entire nation would collapse if illegal immigrants were deported en masse, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told a Senate committee hearing Wednesday.
New York City is home to more than 3 million immigrants, and a half-million of them came to this country illegally, Bloomberg testified.
We want the radical left wing lunatics like Andrea Mitchel to continue to have nightmares every night, and wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, over the specter of a very angry American populace, led by the Tea Parties, descending on Washington, and sweeping the criminal gang of Reid, Pelosi and 0bozo out of power, and then lining them up for trial for crimes against humanity, before sending them to hell where they belong.
Are Andrea Mitchell and Dana Bash related, or separated at birth by 100 years?
Every time an ignorant Leftist opens their mouth, that list gets longer and longer.
I suppose that Andrea thinks she isn't a partisan Media Hack, huh?
Typical Obama Sycophant with her own daily show. How quaint.
Poor Andrea! She apparently has some form of paranoia perhaps the type that involves some forms of dementia.
She’s also stuck in the 60’s. Very sad.
The conservative tea party movement is more than a subtext Andrea. It is a force not to be reckoned with.
“Obama Doctrine has borne fruit, but it is not perceived yet...”
Ah, so he’s Damian’s father after all?
When did the economy turn around? I must have missed it. My town has a reported unemployment of 10.2%, and that does not count those that have given up looking for jobs. The only ones I see enjoying this economy are on vacation in Hawaii.
Is she officially doing drugs while on the air now or what ?
Merry Christmas (belated!) and Happy New Year (in advance!), sweetness.

So the person who adores George Soros does not like Palin. Mitchell is a certifiewd idiot. Sarah Palin can wear her indictment like a badge of honor.
As Rush said about the Rep from the district adjacent to mine, the execrable Debbie Wasserman Schultz, “She’s one of those women you’re glad married somebody else.”
"Is she on some kind of drugs? What in the world is she talking about?"
She's obviously talking about how the Great 0bama has the world so “united behind the United States. that the moment 0bozo showed up in Copenhagen, the “world” immediately voted for 0bozo’s Chicago homeland to hold the Olympics games.
Oh wait...the world actually humiliated the Narcissist in Chief by voting Chicago OUT in the very first round.
I'm not saying it isn't, nor am I saying it has anything to do with so-called health care reform. But, the statement in and of itself is accurate - it is stupid to invite a bright mind to the US to be educated for 4 to 10 years, then to kick him/her out as soon as they graduate and their student visa expires. It's silly and not very far-sighted. America needs that intellectual talent to move forward into this century.
The only thing that is keeping America afloat right now is our ingenuity and leadership position in the technological, medical and other scientific/engineering fields. The moment we lose that competitive advantage, we're become another also-ran country, with no possibility of digging ourselves out from under this mountain of debt.
Ok ho do we contact this moronic bitch ?
Damn right Mrs. Palin frightens you Andrea. Even you can stick your nose in the wind and find out which way it’s blowing. Get ouside the beltway Andrea, the folks are not buying your stuff anymore.
Sarah should have autographed it and handed it back. That’d piss Andrea off more.
I think that the media left just does not want to see the most powerful white woman in America be a republican, living in the White House with her Eskimo husband and children.
What that has to do with Democrat Governor George Wallace, I do not understand.
Mitchell smokes crack and seriously needs to put down the crack pipe and turn her dealer in.....
Andrea is a JINO kapo
Andrea is a JINO kapo
George Wallace? Propagandist b!tch! Comparing Palin to a racist like Wallace? Completely out of touch with America. The recession, health care, cap and trade will NEVER have any effect on her or her cronies in the drive by media. STFU Andrea!
