Should be a great car, but I see lots of Mustang GTs in my rear view mirror driving over the mountain twice a day. As great as they are they’re not made for tight twisting mountain roads....

love it, first thing I would do though is take that silly plastic cover on the engine off.
I am a tech and I like the way an engine looks even the modern ones.
Then I buys a blower kit!
Then I go out lose my CDL license.
The newer Mustangs are said to handle very well, actually. Far better than they did in the past. Ford made big leaps in the Mustang’s handling in 09-10, and more improvements were made for 11.
Here’s a review of the 2010’s handling:
“Body control with the Track pack is astounding. It doesn’t pogo, doesn’t shimmy, doesn’t slump to the outside and clop its way through a corner. The ride may be firm, but nothing throws it off the slot-like path you cut through turns. And somehow that live axle deals with pitching and pocked pavement with much of the sure-footed poise of an independent setup. A Track-pack Mustang used only at the drag strip is a Mustang wasted.”

V-8 engine. I hear ya. They are great.
I love Mustangs! My dad restored many of the oldies. He had a gorgeous 64 convertible, maroon with a cream top. I was enough of a ‘boy magnet’ on my own, but the car sure got them interested when he let me drive it in the late ‘70’s. :)
One of my early cars was a restored blue 66 Mustang Pony with the great original pony interior. Too bad some drunk smashed into it when it was parked across the street overnight. We woke up to the sight of it smashed up the side against a utility pole. Sob! I only had that car for a week. Totaled the beauty my dad had meticulously restored. 30 years later, I am still sick about that car.
Later on, he fixed up a 70’s era Mustang Grande’ convertible that was kind of a pea green metalflake with an automatic, cream-colored top. I never really liked that car much. I wish he had hung onto the ‘64. Best car ever.

It would be the driver, then, who is not made for tight twisting roads. I had an '89 GT. All the refinery of, well, a hot engine for its day in a light, short-wheelbased car. You don't steer them so much with the steering wheel as you do the gas and brakes.

My Ford-loving father built himself a garage when he bought his T-bird earlier in the decade. When he decided to buy a new Mustang a couple years later, he installed a hydraulic lift. No clue what he’ll do next.

LOL, I once knew a “boy magnet” with a 64 Mustang convertible (same color & top), only hers was showroom new. Her dad bought it for her when she graduated high school... man must have been bedbug crazy.
Old cars, old songs, and old movies bring back a lot of good memories.

It has a lot to do with body stiffness and balance, something that made the old BMW 2002 one of the best.
I once had a 68 Torino GT (big tires & handling package) and was on the blue ridge parkway behind two girls in an Opal Cadet... was all I could do to keep up with them.

They looked neat, and everyone I've ever talked to who owned one, loved it. A popular car amongst the SCCA set.
