The Obama administration spent Christmas weekend in an internal debate over whether to tell the American people the government failed to protect airline passengers in the wake of the terror attack on Northwest Airlines flight 253, according to the Wall Street Journal.
That explains the stupifying message by Obama spokespeople on Sunday that the 'system worked'.
The statement followed three days in which the White House had delegated public responses to subordinates. Officials debated over the weekend whether to state publicly that the security system had failed, according to a senior counterterrorism official.
The dilemma was on display Monday when Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano appeared to backpedal from televised comments over the weekend in which she declared that, once the attack happened, "the system worked." Ms. Napolitano conceded Monday that the system didn't work in allowing a terrorist onboard the plane. She said her earlier comments were taken out of context.
Also on Sunday, White House Press Secretary repeated the initial administration line on CBS News' Face the Nation:
I do think, though, that, in many ways, this system has worked. We just have to continue to keep refining it and stay ahead of what terrorists are trying to do.
Yes, Mr. and Mrs. America, they really think we're that dumb. Yet, it is the best and the brightest populating the Obama administration who are dumb enough to think that they could tell the American people "the system worked" and get away with it.
This is perfectly in-line with their perpetual opposite day syndrome. Whatever they say...the opposite is the truth.

Anyway, one of the central tenets of the book was this question of “truth”. He stated if a statement furthered the communist movement, it could not possibly be a lie, as it was known to them to be the “Marxist-Leninist truth”.
Therefore, the could say with a reasonably straight face that they were telling the “truth”.
This was over 50 years ago, and the author had it down pat. He saw what is was, how it worked, how it would be marketed and portrayed. No wonder the young, the naive, and other assorted imbeciles fall for this trash!
You want to educate your kids? Have them “The Prince”, “Rules For Radicals” (and anything else by Alinsky), the myriad of works by Antonio Gramsci, and the psuedo-intellectual babblings of Noam Chomsky.
Make sure YOU read them, too, and then discuss these things with your kids. It might help, too if you were familiar with at least volume 1 of “Das Kapital”, as well as some von Mises and/or Rothbard, but it's not essential for these purposes.
Remember, knowledge and truth are the sunlight with which disinfect the spaces these cockroaches infest, and causes them to scatter (or, hopefully, even die!)

It is true that is failed, but where? Amsterdam? Nigeria? Thia guy boarded the flight in Nigeria. Did he have to go through screening again in Amsterdam? It seems that Security at Airports all over the world are lierally “all over the map”. Years ago (pre 9/11), I can remember the screening in places like Paris and Berlin being much more stringent than anyhting I experienced in the U.S. If you want real screning, fly El Al out of Israel. This is a Global problem and somehow, we need to develop “global standards” and I think that this issue is a hell of a lot more important than what they were debating in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago.

IOW - the blame Bush scenario didn't hold up since Napolitano admitted having reviewed the agency procedures rather than say she hadn't read them and therefore must have found them acceptable as she didn't change anything, so it's time to sling as much $hit as possible and see if anything sticks to the walls of believability.
The word “System” implies they have done it the same way at least twice.
I see no system here.
