Christmas day's recycled terrorists: Releases from Gitmo are coming back to haunt us
The Washington Times ^ | December 30, 2009 | Editorial

Liberals are being forced to deal with the cognitive dissonance conjured by the inconvenient truth that Mr. Bush freed al-Shiri from detention and Mr. Obama hunted him down and killed him. We support the targeted killing program because it is the only aspect of Mr. Obama's national security strategy that is reaping concrete benefits. The "blame Bush" mantra, however, is simply a way for Mr. Obama's left-wing supporters to avoid asking hard questions about the future of terrorist detainees.

Meanwhile, potential reinforcements continue to flow to the region under the president's detainee-release program. On Dec. 20, six Yemenis arrived in the country, shortly to rejoin the general population and perhaps later to capture global headlines. This is no way to run a war or, rather, as the Obama administration would have it, an "overseas contingency operation."

I suspect Dick Cheney will have a word or two on this topic. I wish HE were president today...

There are a lot of sharks in Gitmo Bay. If we must practice catch and release,,then we can at least release the fish in the Bay.

If he wasn’t in failing health he would have been the presumptive GOP candidate and would have beat the pants off of the Bummer.

Dang, I SOOOO did not see this coming! I guess I just assumed they had all converted and were in a Yemeni seminary somewhere, studying to be priests. Who would have thought that murderous bastards would remain murderous bastards?

He looks healthy enough to me! I say we should have nominated him and kept a strong VP like Palin in reserve. Too late now, but Palin/Cheney?

Presidents (and less so, veeps) have to keep pretty punishing schedules. Cheney might not be up to that any more, though as long as he can still think and talk he would be very valuable in conservative think tanks.

I’ve actually met him. He is incredible. Brilliant. Polite. Well mannered. One heck of a good shot and funny like you wouldn’t believe. I wish America respected its elders. I remember thinking during the swearing in (that Obama botched!) when Aretha Franklin started singing that it would have been nice to have HER as president because of her wisdom and grace. She may harbor some of the same bitterness, but she is first and foremost a lady of grace and charm. Plus, she earned it as a REAL African American. Obama is an impostor and makes Blacks look bad in general...

Obama is obysmal, that is agreed. Aretha Franklin would beat his pants off in the smarts department. But again the Democrats were not looking for a thinking President. They were looking for an all purpose puppet and they got one.

The next black president will probably be a Republican.

It would be good to have a Conservative Republican president who, in some footnote somewhere was noted to have been of African decent. Unfortunately, Obama is triggering some nasty resurgence in racism in this country and it is a real shame. African Americans are those whose ancestors were brought here in the 1600s as slaves. Its been one bad ride for most of these folks. They have 400 years of history here and many, many scars to show for it. Their issues are unique and complex. Obama, on the other hand, has none of this experinece. He’s either African, Pacific, all of the above or none of the above. Nobody knows and the International Left is spending millions to make sure the world doesn’t find out what their puppet is made of. Michelle, on the other hand is the real thing and that’s why I don’t bash her. She’s genuine. I don’t care much for her, but I’ve never met her. The point is.... Obama is pissing off alot of white folk and the true blue African Americans are taking the brunt of the storm. It may be a LONG time before another African American is elected to POTUS after Obama is finished destroying the white middle class...

Darwinism makes it easier for the average Joe to view the Negro as “closer to the monkey.”

Christendom had cockamamie theories (based on yanking a bible verse or two out of its context) that excused such views as well, but they weren’t as widespread as today’s Darwinism and are almost universally repudiated today.

A tendency to self-racism is, unfortunately, a vice endemic to sinful mankind. The result, once the black man gets caught in the social netherworld due to other factors, is to keep him mired there. Liberalism often backfires as well. Jim Crow, odious as it was, did not hurt the black family as much as the modern welfare state.

You have just pin pointed one of the big terrors of socialism. If man is an animal, than there is a hierarchy and blacks are on the lowest rung. Nowhere else in modern history has one race been so exploited for so long. This plays well into socialism. Juden Aus! Slawen sint Sklawen! KKK rallies. Ethnic cleansing in Bosnia. Its all the same. A few on top and the rest exploited. If we are not all created by G-d, then we are just animals and animals have hierarchies and some of us win and some of us lose. The power of our Declaration of Independence is in the phrase “All men are created equal...”Unfortunately, those who crafted our constitution couldn't overcome the big statist interest in preserving slavery as an economic platform. Money won and humans lost. Not just blacks. Hundreds of thousands of white Americans died to free “the slaves.” I'm not sure how blacks escape this endless do loop but I was talking to a friend over lunch today about a TV show playing in the background that showed blacks in court doing the jive thing. It was stupid and it made them look stupid. How can they expect to compete with a billion Chinese and a billion Indians (who are every bit as “dark” as they but without the human baggage) when they act like buffoons in mainstream culture? It is obvious that Hollywood and Big TV exploit them for money. Pick cotton? Act like a fool on TV? Its all the same. Stereotypical behavior patterns pounded into people from day one and shared with the world. I notice there are no Conservatives in Hollywood... We need to reach out and offer shelter and support to the few African Americans who understand conservative principles and want and expect to be treated with dignity as equals rather than gang bangers...

and of course all those high paid politicians and their $$paid advisers didnt see this coming??

IMHO 0Bama wants a terror attacks as a precursor to do mass imprisonment & suppression of his critics & opponents. He IS a commie through & through and this is straight out of their playbook.

Besides, didnt Rahm Emanuelle say "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste"

With all that's going on in the country is like the bus driver of a fully loaded tour bus loaded with passenger suddenly locks it in cruise control at 75mph and walks to the back and have a seat amid winding roads and busy traffic. Of course it WILL crash eventually and this is how this current administration is running the country - create a crisis and then when it crashes jump in to push through your radical agendas and to hell with the Constitution, Bi-partisanship or the cost of the so-called "RESCUE"!!
