MOGADISHU, Somalia — Officials say a Somali national tried to board a commercial airliner in Mogadishu last month with powdered chemicals, liquid and a syringe that together could have caused an explosion. The hallmarks bear chilling similarities to the terrorist plot to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner.
Police spokesman Abdulahi Hassan Barise says the suspect was arrested before the Nov. 13 Daallo Airlines flight departed. It was scheduled to travel from Mogadishu to the northern Somali city of Hargeisa, then to Djibouti and Dubai.

Actually, it is an AP story, so it should get some play....
They are letting this info out to save their own hides. “See, we stopped a Somali last month” (in other words, see, we’re on the job!!)
Perhaps, but Obama stupidly called the Flight 253 incident “isolated.” Most likely not isolated if other terrorists are trying the same method.
Block entry to all from countries infested with jihadis, and send all home who have come from there.
Striking similarities? How fabulously understated. Except for the itinerary and nationality of the perp, it’s identical. This should be shoved down the throats of media or administration apologists parroting the obvious fiction that this is an isolated incident.
This has nothing to do with US security. The plane’s destination was Dubai. This sort of thing could be a weekly occurrence in Somalia, for all we know.
Was Dubai this guy’s final destination?
Do Dearborn and Detroit Michigan count as countries infested with jihadis?
The Detroit bomber was very recently in Dubai. The Somalia incident perhaps accounted for heightened security at Dubai prior to Christmas, and the Detroit incident probably has accounted for even tougher securty at Dubai in the last few days.
So what we have here are multiple, isolated, completely disconnected but totally identical incidents. Uh huh.

Obammy did suspend his badly needed vacation in Hawaii for 10 minutes, before he teed off on the back 9, to calm the public not to worry. He has it well in hand that the “system” installed by his predecessor was faulty and that he would “fix it”.

Trusting nothing from officials, I question whether Flight 253-2 wasn’t another failed attempt.
What they are trying to do now is basically assemble bombs in flight.
What they need to do is just ban all powders and liquids of ANY size in carry-on luggage. That will take care of the problem, at least this incarnation of it.
Interesting, a country (Somali) with a barely functioning government, if you even want to call it that, can stop a attempted terrorist attack, yet the western world with all it technology and expensive toys can't !!!

Two passengers on doomed Air France jet cleared of links to Islamic terrorism

Two men aboard doomed Air France Flight 447 have been cleared of having links to Islamic terrorism, it has been revealed.
Posthumous security checks into the backgrounds of the men found that they solely ‘shared the same name’ as known Islamic radicals, even though their bodies have not yet been found.

Why can’t these nuts blow their balls or feet off at some secluded beach? Is it because Islam is such a social, communal religion?

Western officials say many of the hundreds of foreign jihadi fighters in Somalia come in small boats across the Gulf of Aden from Yemen. The officials also say that examination of equipment used in some Somali suicide attacks leads them to believe it was originally assembled in Yemen.
The security official said the [Somali] suspect had a white shampoo bottle with a black acid-like substance in it. He also had a clear plastic bag with a light green chalky substance and a syringe containing a green liquid. The security official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information.
The powdered material had the strong scent of ammonia, Bahoku said, and samples have been sent to London for testing.
