LORD of the Rings director Peter Jackson has been knighted for services to film.

Sir Peter was made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit after the New Zealand government announced in its New Year Honors today.

Since starting out in film with cult classics the likes of Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles, Jackson's popular work has included the Lord of The Rings trilogy, a King Kong remake and most recently, a film adaptation of the best-selling Alice Sebold novel The Lovely Bones.

On a side note, was watching King Kong the other night and noticed they said Christ, G-Damn it, etc etc more than in any other movie I can remember. It was so bad, soooo many times that I wonder if it was intentional.

Given the choices for both knighthood and oscars lately, neither “award” is worth much. Perhaps just a teeny bit more than a Nobel Peace Prize.....

Peter Jackson took a great old movie....King Kong...made a great special effects movie out of it.

then RUINED it with a pathetic leftist, story line.

What a shame....Andy Serkis was brilliant as the beast....

Most Knighthoods are given to worthy people. The problem is the ones that aren’t get given all the media attention.

What with a lot of Englishmen now raising the St. George’s Cross as their banner (red cross on white field, the flag of England), and calling for the expulsion of militant (only) Muslims from England, perhaps it is time for the rise of a new chivalric order of knights.

Owing no loyalty to the British government, or the crown, or to the government of Europe, instead to the nation of England, Saint Michael, Saint Edmund and Saint George.

Petey! Petey! Get ahold of yourself!

Without the Oscar, there is no knighthood.
