“Let me see your papers!” More and more Americans are feeling fearful of our government
The Collins Report ^ | December 31, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 12/31/2009 6:05:25 AM PST by jmaroneps37

Those of us who grew up in the 1960’s remember old black and white movies made during World War II. We remember the ones about the Nazis usually had a sneering jerk in a black uniform and monocle confronting a “suspicious” civilian with the demand, “Let me see your papers!”

Seventy years later, we thought all of that was left behind, but according to a new Wenzel Strategies report, a growing number of Americans are becoming fearful American citizens might soon be challenged with this same chilling demand.

Very chilling stuff

Wenzel Strategies spoke to 823 likely voters over the weekend of December 18 to 21 and established a margin of error of 3.4%.

The timing of this survey makes its results still more significant for two clear reasons: first the nearness to Christmas should have people’s spirits high and hopeful; and second weekend polls usually reach more Democrats than Republicans.

If this was the case and a number of Democrats have come to this conclusion it adds extra weight to the importance of this finding.

This is the type of news that makes your stomach tighten because it is both overwhelmingly un-American for such a thing to happen here in the land of the free and the home of the brave, and a little voice tells you the 36% of Americans who feel this way might just be correct in their fear of Obama’s Administration.

Wenzel also observed that Republicans “get it.” At a rate of 73% Republicans now agree that “Our freedoms are decreasing under Barack Obama’s presidency.” This is a sharp increase from the 61% that felt this way just last month. Among Independents the month to month increase of fear of government jumped 7%.

Never in our lifetime have things been this scary

Sometimes fear is a good thing. It can serve as a great motivation to stand and fight Obama's marxism.

The “fear” needs to turn into anger and activism.

“The ‘fear’ needs to turn into anger and activism.”

Indeed.

I’m pretty sure that’s what the Tea Parties were about.

Wrong! My wife is visiting her sister in Russia. Because my wife is a Russian National, she must carry her "Internal Passport" wherever she goes and produce it on demand by any official without any cause. She was astounded and amused when she first came to the U.S. many years ago that we could travel between states without having to "prove" our identity at any time for no reason without a gubmint issued passport.

It can serve as a great motivation to stand and fight Obama's marxism.

Really? When and how? If any sort of coordination is attempted on the Internet, we'll have government brownshirts at our door looking to lock us up for fomenting violence or attempting to overthrow the government... essentially treason, at least in the eyes of the Obama DoJ.

If we try to muster in cities around DC, we'll be squashed by the military like the Bonus Army in 1932.

Despite being armed, the American public doesn't have the stomach for Civil War, and they likely never will until after all of the cogs have been set in motion to stop any and all attempts at a coup d'etat.

And if anyone thinks we'll have a revolution at the ballot box, they're sorely mistaken. 2008 showed us that the Marxists have figured out how to rig our elections in their favor. If every Conservative showed up in 2010, I'm convinced we'll still lose in major contests.

The Liberal/Progressive Marxist/Socialist din has grown into a roar, and the machine of Communism has started up with great thunder. Many of us, by virtue of posting on FR alone, will likely be imprisoned for dissidence at some point.

MOLWN LABE!

I thought the Tea Parties were about racism.

The sad part is that the majority of Libs and Dems still do not "get it".

Whenever I have tried to explain to my liberal friends how much their liberty has been compromised and how much of their freedom is being threatened...they look at me like I have two heads and then start babbling about Bush.

The government isn’t doing this sort of thing to keep us safe against terrorists. It is doing it to silence critics and those who oppose leftist policies.

If asked for “papers” simply state that you are a gay muslim of mixed race, with no birth certificate or proof of your citizenship and, because you are a ‘special’ minority the ‘need to know’ is rendered moot.

That’s the ticket!

The left always uses the state’s law enforcement and defensive measures against those they view as the “true enemy” - those who oppose their acquisition and maintainence of power.

They are getting the big momma gummit they asked for. Maybe when her hug begins to smother them they will realize it’s too late.

When health care arrives....it will be “let me see your health card”...the card will have a microchip....similar to the newer credit card, it WILL contain all your personal data, readable by the “authorities”

People who drive automobiles have been showing their “papers” since shortly after the turn of the last century.

The largest moves aren’t even in that direction. They are in the direction of pulling huge chunks of American infrastructure into the gummit bosom. You can avoid the hassles of flying if you must. It’s harder to keep from being involved with cars and money.
