The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the Transportation Security Administration, sent federal agents to the homes of two journalists and served them with subpoenas on Tuesday night to try to identify the source of a leak about aviation security changes imposed after the failed attempt on Christmas Day to blow up Northwest Flight 253.
In separate visits, the DHS employees told Chris Elliott and Steve Frischling that their computers and all e-mail correspondence related to the leak of the security directive were being subpoenaed as part of an investigation into who leaked the document to them, which both journalists published on their Web sites.
The directive, ... restricted passenger movement and activities on all international flights. After being published by Elliott and Frischling, the restrictions were widely ridiculed by travel experts, bloggers, and news organizations, which deeply embarrassed the TSA and the homeland security agency, already under pressure for their missteps in the foiled attack.
Elliott, the blogger who first published Security Directive SD-1544-09-06 and writes a travel column for The Washington Post, said he was surprised and somewhat intimidated by the TSA visit and being served with the subpoena. In his blog, Elliott wrote that he had "just put the kids in the bathtub when Special Agent Robert Flaherty knocked on my front door with a subpoena. He was very polite, and used "sir" a lot, and he said he just wanted a name: Who sent me the security directive?"
Elliott said in an interview that he had declined to tell Flaherty the identity of his source or turn over his computer. He said he has referred further inquiries about his stance to Mark Holsher, an attorney, who did not return calls for comment. The TSA later gave Elliott two weeks to comply with its subpoena.

Chris Elliott has come a long way since Cabin Boy.
Just goes to show you how either arrogant or stupid the Obamites are. (They should have gotten a gag order on the guy in regards to his visit as well as the search warrant for his property)
This is a typically stupid, bureaucratic response to an incident. And they should look inside to see who the leaker is, rather than threatening a citizen journalist who was the recipient of that leak.
Bummer could have waited a little while then rang them up when he needed to have Rahm’s dirty work expose’ on Bush done!
(JUST KIDDING)
Practically, both things and people. I don’t see how the nude X ray can be avoided now. So a few hundred are training in Yemen. Wonder if the mastermind behind that is also training in, say, Colorado?
He knows who sent him the email ~
“sent federal agents to the homes of two journalists”
It will be interesting to see how the alphabet networks and rest of the msm report this. If it was Bush there would be an outrage. The NYT had been publishing leaks all the time while Bush was in charge.
I wondered about that as I read his blog. He must have had a way to verify it's authenticity before posting it.
The TSA sleuths were correct to subpoena his computer.
My guess is they'd already subpoened his service provider!
With all due respect, that city needs to be Washington, D.C. It saddens me to say it because there are some d*mn fine people there, real Americans, honest folks; but overall it is so overrun with power-hungry rats it needs to be brought down.
Just my humble opinion, and if anyone has a better way I'd love to hear (and execute) it. 0.0 / sarc
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
Thanks very much for the link. I had not seen that. Fascinating comments at the link. BTTT!
never mind the fact the alphabet networks jumping over each other to be the first to publish or report classified info...
Yes, of course, we can’t have the truth getting out, can we? =.=
