No. It has nothing to do with the Constitutional right to face your accuser. Or a right to a trial.

In this country, we don't kill on an accusation.

You were the one that brought up the subject of the Constitution. In this country murderers are let out of jail every day. Are you going to say you see nothing wrong with that practice? How would you feel if a lawyer got a murderer off and that person killed a member of YOUR family. That happens far too many times in this Country.

I watched the show “Ironside” (1967-1975). Raymond Burr played a lawyer that would only take cases where he knew the defendant was innocent. I remember one show where he found he was defending a criminal and resigned from that case. What a novelty, an honest lawyer. Yes, I know it was a TV show.

My, how things have changed. ;0(

Yes I did. Because it sets out citizens rights that you want to ignore. Either we are a nation of laws or we are not. It is Constitutional to face your accuser and stand trial. Murdering someone on an accusation is not.

You're kidding, right? You want to chuck other peoples rights because you watched a TV show? You are an example of what's wrong with this country.

Good day.

Murdering someone on an accusation is not.

We don't yet know what the killer knew or didn't know - whether he was going on more than just an accusation. Perhaps he was going on a confession - perhaps the child rapist didn't know his roommate was related to the little girl he was drunkenly bragging over beers one evening about having raped. At the very least it is likely to have been an accusation from someone the killer had no reason not to believe.

We may or may not ever find out as the killer goes to trial, depending on what evidence and testimony the judge chooses to admit or exclude in the killer's defense.

That's exactly right but people still cheer a murder. All they need is an accusation. How liberal of them. And unconstitutional. Again, either the Constitution applies to all or none.

I guess it’s kind of a modern-day version of “burn the witch!!”

They apply to everyone or no one

Platitudes are like generalizations...grounded in truth to a large degree but not absolute.

I think you are right.

And there are some states that commit violent sex offenders to mental institutions (after they serve their time) if they get a doctor to vouch that they are dangerous. I believe that is the thing to do. The thing is, these guys get prison terms and never see a psychologist. I know of one through my friends that said to his psychologist that his only mistake was leaving his victim alive. When he was released, the police were waiting outside the doors for him. He was taken to a mental institution and is still there.

Look, we yell when the left wants to subvert the Constitution based on emotion. We can’t turn around and do the same.

He was taken to a mental institution and is still there.

Still cheaper than giving him the needle he deserves, I suspect.

Your “solution” is not Constitutional. And we don’t kill the mentally ill.

This is the best solution. They won’t release him and there is no appeal process or parole. He’s there as long as he’s a danger. And that’s probably the rest of his life.

Give it a few years and the Feds will raise the age of consent to 21.

With Obama anything is possible.

And you are a prime example of what is wrong with Your “Criminal Justice System”.

I am done with you.
