Obama's Busy Last Day of Vacation (MO: "Let's stay!" ... I'm trying to mount a coup here!"
ABCNews ^ | January 4, 2010 | Jon Garcia

As his emissary, Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan, hit the Sunday morning talk shows to discuss White House anti-terror efforts, Obama, still on island time, had his usual workout the nearby Marine Base and then went for a 6+ hour round of golf at the course on the base.

His afternoon included a family visit to Punchbowl, the Department of Veterans Affairs-run National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Obama's maternal grandfather is entombed there. And then a swing by the Honolulu Zoo, where Obama made his first appearance of the day. There the First Family--First Lady Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha--viewed, among other exhibits, the white-handed gibbon exhibit, ring-tailed lemur exhibit and the Francois monkey.

With the sounds of screaming animals in the background, the family walked by members of the press and President Obama called out, "Are you ready to go back?" referring to Washington DC.

Reporters responded with a question of their own: "Are YOU ready to go back?"

Obama and his wife called out with a resounding "No!"

The First Lady went so far as to try to rally the traveling staff and press to remain in Hawaii a bit longer.

"Let's stay!" she said "Are we all in? I'm trying to mount a coup here!"

Does she deliberately dress to exaggerate her worst attributes?

6+ hour round of golf???? I'm sure he and his group had the entire course to themselves, so it wouldn't be the fault of the group ahead of him... As President, George H.W. Bush used to play an 18 hole round in 1 hour 45 minutes, but he was working for the United States of America. Now it's the other way around.

My question is he conveniently uses the idea that he is "from" Hawaii to go there for vacations, excursions, etc.

How many times have they been to hawaii in, say, the past ten years when it was on their own dime?

....watched a movie titled “In Harms Way” with John Wayne and Kirk Douglas over the weekend...a classic, and in the film there's a part where an Admiral sends this “snitch” to to “inform” on Wayne and his command. Anyway the character, a real snake, remarkably reminded me of Horse face. There was a line in the film where the Admiral reminded the snitch that a few Purple Hearts would do wonders for his political career after the war. The parallel was stunning.

I need to start a pool here on FR, a simple $5 buy in with a 50/50 split for Jim to host it.

It will be a simple bet, pick the day that Baraq and Michele announce just before their 2012 reelection bid that she is expecting another child. I firmly believe they are going to do it just for the bounce they’ll get from idiots wanting another baby born in the White House like JFK and Jackie had.

I would be willing to bet big money it’s coming, in fact I would wager there have already been internal polls conducted by his people on that very subject.

Ah, yes ... those “well-deserved” awards; purple hearts, Nobel Peace Prize, President of Harvard Law Review ...

I think I see a pattern.

Wonder if there were any snake and weasel exhibits at that zoo?
