I guess more than just a few were angered by the bailouts.

Yes. A few people at the dealership told me that a good amount of people said that they would not buy Chrysler or GM.

I bought a Mercury sedan back in 2005 and couldn’t be happier! Any time I’ve taken the car in for service, I’m asked by the service manager if I’m interested in trading in the car for a newer model. Apparently 2005-2009 Mercury vehicles are in high demand right now!

Ford makes a consistent product. Every older Ford I’ve owned had cooling system issues and eventual A/C problems, but engines and drive trains required minimal maintenance, even over 100K miles.

And I was one of them not long ago. New F-150, and I swore to never buy a GM product again.

Good job FORD. The only US car maker that is truly American.

BTW, I got a chance to check out my cousin’s new Ford Flex the other day. Very cool vehicle.

I believe with Fords you get good quality for your money. I’ve had no major problems with mine. All of mine have given me no problems and a long run for my money.

We’re on our third Exporer. Good solid vehicles every one.

And how about the Ford Explorer? ;-)

It’s doing great in the snow. 31.1 inches of lake effect here and still falling.

Most of Ford’s “problems” are foreseeable and easily fixed for MUCH less than Japanese or Korean autos. Mine has been a Ford family since the 1940s, and that will continue with my kids!

The government backing of GM and Chrysler is the best thing that ever happened to Ford.

I live in the South and my son is involved in the auto industry. I cannot tell you how many people have come to him and told him they would never, on principle, buy a “government motors” car.

It may not be harming their sales in the NE, but here in the South, it is deadly.

Hubby and I rented an Explorer in Vegas about 3 years and immediately fell in love with it. :-)
