Ron Paul tells Cheney to back off Obama

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) took a shot at Dick Cheney last night, saying the former Vice President wasn't in any position to be criticizing President Obama.

"Well, I think he had his eight years and he's caused a lot of trouble for our country and he perpetuated a war in Iraq that was unnecessary and wrong-headed," Paul said of Cheney on CNN's Larry King Live. "So I would say that it would be best he not be so critical right now."

He has some good ideas, but on the foreign policy front he’s no better than Dennis Kucinich. Little Ron needs to pipe down and stop demanding attention, because all he’s drawing is derision.

Just what is a neocon FReeper?

Nothing. The term has no meaning whatsoever anymore. It's just an empty pejorative thrown around by mindless political neophytes.

Wrong. It's a Newbie Paulbot on FR who tries to stir up conservatives yet hide his real agenda. If you couldn't figure that out, then you're the mindless neophyte.

those that seek to bring their thirdworld hellholistic beliefs are NOT welcome and should stay out.

RINO-Dems like Cheney are welcoming Muslims with open arms, hugs, and kisses (while distracting the suckers by pretending to fight a "war").

We also had a son in Iraq doing two tours during this time, and President Bush never ignored a single opportunity to thank them, to support the mission, to explain why it was necessary....

There were a lot more instances of his explaining and supporting the war than those on that Google list.

I really don't think it had anything to do with the "new tone." I agree that his refusal to defend himself was frustrating (OK.......more than frustrating!), but he did defend the mission.

It may well have been a big mistake in terms of his popularity to not trumpet his accomplishments with a bigger horn, but he truly didn't care about it, and it would have been going counter to his personal principles to do otherwise.

My observation. :) We can agree to disagree on this (again).

Paulbots are NeoCons now, too? Damn, it’s getting crowded in here.

The word means nothing anymore. Nada.

You are SO right, SoCal!

I am reminded of the fact that the only negative experience I have had at any of the Tea Parties I've attended was to sit and endure the mindless rhetoric of a Paulite, who didn't seem to agree with the Tea Party principles at all.

It's all about Paul. It's all about his ego. And it's all about the flakes who follow him off whatever cliff he approaches.

Not a good bunch.

He was always stellar with the troops, and extremely popular with them as a result. His support of the military was wonderful.

It was his lack of ongoing explanation to the American public (that needed it very much) and his unwillingness to engage his political enemies I am objecting to.

I understand his reasoning, just don't agree with it. Franklin Roosevelt understood that part better.

I’m using the term in the broad sense; a Newbie trying to act like a conservative. BTW, your referring to me as a mindless neophyte should have been followed by pinging me, since you were being critical. But then, I guess you don’t have the sense for that.

I answered a question about a word. That’s it. I wasn’t referring to you, I wasn’t thinking about you, I don’t know who you are or care what you said.

But if that changes, I’ll be sure to ping you.

I completely agree that he didn't engage his political enemies, and that hurt, but I will continue to disagree that he didn't offer explanations to the American people.

He did. They didn't want to hear them. And after 8 years of incessant beating and constant lies by his political enemies (including, of course, the 'impartial' press that hated him with a deep passion and denied the American people the right to hear what he was saying), and the shameful weakness of the Republicans who should have been supporting our troops and their Commander in Chief, but were too afraid, he was unable to recover from the blows to his poll numbers.

Fortunately, time WILL allow the truth to be made known, and those lies will be replaced with the truth.

I think we are all in agreement that a presence is required

Agreed, but all through our history Americans have been willing to man up and go to war as long as we fight the war to win, and return to normalcy once it's won.

I don't see anything different this time. America will not fight a fifty or one hundred year war.

"Cheney is a RINO. RINOs = Dems on immigration."

LOL. Yeah SURE.

Meanwhile, Ron Paul needs to shut the h*ll up. Mr. Cheney and his daughter Liz are two of the very few who have their heads screwed-on straight. God Bless the Cheney family and all of their abilities to articulate the bafoonery in the moden White House.

Either you can't comprehend short sentences or you're ducking the issue.

You replied (in post #42) to post #32, which was addressed to me: Okay, I’ll bite. Just what is a neocon FReeper?

The clear inference is that I used the phrase 'neocon FReeper'.

Your response was that it is a meaningless phrase used by political neophytes. You had to know you were referring to me; or you are completely clueless. But you didn't bother to ping me so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and consider you completely clueless.

And if I ever change my mind about your naivety, I'll be sure to ping you. Don't hold your breath.
