Ron Paul tells Cheney to back off Obama

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) took a shot at Dick Cheney last night, saying the former Vice President wasn't in any position to be criticizing President Obama.

"Well, I think he had his eight years and he's caused a lot of trouble for our country and he perpetuated a war in Iraq that was unnecessary and wrong-headed," Paul said of Cheney on CNN's Larry King Live. "So I would say that it would be best he not be so critical right now."

Imho Actrfshr is fundamentally correct, and I also think Paul saying “not be so critical right now” is a far cry from “telling Cheney to shut up”.

I partially lay the blame on the GOP and by extension Conservatism on A)Pres Bush not hitting back on the chorus of critics B) GOP free spending and lack of a core of principles.

The Paul/Cheney dynamic is the fight at the core of Republican Party, is the GOP Libertarian/Nationalism or is it WoT/Globalism?

At this point I honestly have no idea, and no leader is emerging to lead one line of thought or another, I enjoy Cheney’s Bluntness, I am fascinated by Paul’s Idealism.

...so let me get this straight...is it Ron Paul’s position that if we just stay home and ignore everything in the Middle East; the terrorists will just leave us alone? Really?

Iraq was the largest threat to Israel?

Really?

Saddam was paying for terror attacks inside Israel, the larger threat to Israel imho is Europe’s alliance with the PA.

And for my .02, Israel has gotten weaker with the more US aid they have received, since 1982 the IDF has lost their fighting spirit and IMI has stopped innovating, there is no need to as US military grants simply makes developing indiginous military industry not sustainable, they have went from Gali l’s to m4’s in a generation and that also imho, is a nmistake.

If Cheney and his goons don’t shut up fast, the Dems will win again in ‘10.

The "50 Cent Party" is heard from.

The only thing faster than the speed of light is the speed of a noob troll to a Cheney and/or Palin thread.

Nope noob. Cheney has miles more experience than Paul. Ron Paul doesn't believe there's terrorism.

Ron Paul on War & Peace

People were bound to start wondering eventually, why we were attacked? Not because they sought to excuse the attackers, but out of natural curiosity regarding what made these men tick. Looking for motive is not the same thing as making excuses; detectives always look for motive behind crime, but no one thinks they are looking to excuse murder.
Source: The Revolution: A Manifesto, by Ron Paul, p. 15 Apr 1, 2008

We have to understand the motives of those who come here & kill us. If we don’t understand that, we are not going to win this fight. They come here & kill us because we occupy their lands, and they rationally reason [that] we have to do something about it.

Paul is a nut.

The only person with a worse view on foreign relations than Obama is Ron Paul. I am with him on many domestic issues, but he has his head in the sand on the threats of Islamic Jihad. At least Obama pretty much let the military finish their job in Iraq and has given troop support to the Generals in Afghanistan. Don’t agree with some aspects, but he didn’t cut and run like Paul would likely do.

Blowing up kids and their mothers daily, on buses, in restaurants, and marketplaces is faster and more damaging to a nations psyche than the slow process of stealing their land in “peace” (blackmail) negotiations.

But, RP still has Iran!

Guess we need to remind you people again.

To all antiwar moonbats, Paulistas included:

Hey, if you don't like FR and or our support the war policies leave. Go find a website that supports your unfortunate, short-sighted and misguided antiwar efforts. It's really that simple.

In case you antiwar Paulistas haven't noticed, Free Republic supports the war effort 100%. Many of our chapters protest against the antiwar moonbats either weekly, monthly or whenever the opportunity arises. The DC Chapter has been protesting against the antiwar moonbats EVERY Friday night at Walter Reed for three years.

Free Republic has co-sponsored several cross country caravans and hundreds of rallies in cities all across the country and in DC against the antiwar moonbats and in support of our Commander-in-chief, our troops, the war effort and our Gold Star and Blue Star families, many of whom are FReepers.

When you are supporting antiwar moonbats you are working against Free Republic's mission, hurting our efforts, hurting our families who have lost loved ones or have loved ones involved in the fighting, hurting our troops, damaging their morale, working against our efforts to defeat the enemy, and, in fact, giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Antiwar moonbats are the domestic enemy. Antiwar moonbats willingly give aid and comfort to the enemy during wartime. In my book, that's tantamount to treason. Ron Paul is an antiwar moonbat. You figure it out. If antiwar moonbats are the enemy and Ron Paul is an aid and comfort supplying antiwar moonbat, then Ron Paul IS the enemy!

If you Paulistas are looking for support on FR for an antiwar moonbat who is giving aid and comfort to our enemies, you're nuts! Free Republic will NEVER support antiwar moonbats!

As far as our official policy on Ron Paul is concerned, it's the same policy we have for his antiwar moonbat allies the traitors Harry Reid, Chuckie Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, Cindy Sheehan, Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda, CodePink, International Answer, et al and their flaming antiwar spam monkeys. Ron Paul and his flaming antiwar spam monkeys can Kiss my Ass!!

Where the hell did you guys ever get the idea that enemy supporting antiwar moonbats would be welcome on FR?

That plain enough for you or do I need to spell it out?
