Glenn Beck joins forces with the NRA
The Macon County Conservative Examiner ^ | 1/5/09 | Robert Moon

As government continues trampling the Constitution with impunity to empower itself at our expense, it is more important now than ever to stand united behind our 2nd Amendment rights. One of the easiest and most effective ways to do this is to join the NRA.

Now, Glenn Beck has given We the People an extra incentive to step up and strengthen our voice...

So you join the NRA for $25 and get a free copy of “Arguing With Idiots” (Retail $29.99) or you join for free and don’t get the book.

I bought the book at B&N with my discount for basically the same price. I can understand why the NRA wants to hitch a ride on Beck’s star right now and I support both of them, but I don’t see that this will be all that successful for the NRA. (JMHO)

If the price were $20, that might be a good deal.

The voice of We the People has said “Stop this Obamination” about as loudly as it could be said — and it has affected Hussein and the Dims in congress not at all. We obviously need noise orders of magnitude louder to stop them.

Damn. I just re-upped a couple of months ago for two years and all I got was that ugly trucker's cap (that I'll never wear).

Is this the Glen Beck who thinks that having a natural born citizen as president is just too silly to worry about? Hm? Just wondering.

Yeah! Beck’s commitment to the Constitution is a mile wide a millimeter deep!

I don't think that's his position. I believe he understands that spending time ranting about this will not get one conservative elected.

BTW, who else has actually forced a communist out of our federal government? No citizenship ranters that I know of.

Sorry...If the Constitution ( even that little teeny weeny little clause about being natural born) isn't a person's polar star, then he simply isn't a conservative. He is something else.

Apparently, as far as that natural born part of the Constitution is concerned Beck has IGNORED it. Even worse, yesterday, he insulted an mocked those who **do** defend the Constitution! I count Beck in with the “MoveOn” conservatives. ( Nothing to see here, folks. There isn't any 2 ton rotting carcass of an elephant in road. Close your eyes and hold your nose as you drive on by!)

Beck and the other yappers ( Rush that means you) are essentially businesses selling a product. That Beck and the rest have chosen to ignore Obama’s eligibility has damaged the brand name reputation of their businesses.

Personally...It will take a LOT to win back my trust.

A long, long time ago, I scraped up the money to become a Life Member. And, it did put a dent in the budget. And, I still contribute more than the annual dues.

Joining the NRA is not a an exercise in "how much free stuff can I get?" or "is it a good deal?"

If defending our rights is worth $20, but not $25 to you, I am not certain we need you on our team.

You took what I said out of context. I already support the NRA with annual donations and I already have Beck's book.

The NRA's objective in this partnership is to increase their membership numbers. I think more people will join if they get the book for $20.

It sounds like you take our 2nd Amendment rights seriously, so I applaud you for that. However, kicking me off your team over a comment about a good deal is rather extreme.

Oops! I think my wife chucked it after I told her I thought it was fugly. It was dark blue with, I think, a James Madison quote on it. I already have too many Navy ball caps.

I agree with you...Beck has no real concern about the Constitution when he mocks people who want the issue of Obama’s natural born status adressed.

The NRA could do much better aligning itself with someone else....someone who actually is comitted to the Constitution....and not just acting like an Obama Enabler

You sound like a "community organizer"....

It's simple capitalism....no income----no talk show...

Now go to the back of the class, and listen!

We few, we happy few.
We band of brothers.

I had a guy tell me he didn’t want to join the NRA again because they didn’t send him the plastic keychain they promised.

You’re correct. Anyone complaining about mailings or missing out on their freebies, I don’t want them.

And then they have the nerve to tell me what they would do in case of a Civil War. Yeah, right.
