"Make no mistake, we will close Guantanamo prison, which has damaged our national security interests and become a tremendous recruiting tool for al-Qaeda," he said.
"In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula."

Has Guantanamo become a recruiting tool of Al Qaeda? A "tremendous" one? Has Zawahiri, Gadahn, anyone complained about Gitmo? Has any terrorist said, posted, what have you "I joined because of Gitmo?"
And was Gitmo an"explcit rationale" for formation of the sub group? All I can find about them is the usual jihadi stuff and that non-Muslim subhumans must leave, even ambassadors, from the Peninsula.
Gee, I guess if Al-Qaeda doesn’t like something that we do ... we’d better not do it!
BamBam acts more and more like your petulant two year old every day. No brains, just reflex reaction.
Just think, next year, they can join al Qaeda because of Illinois!
Stupid lib reassoning, BTW- that if we stop doing things al Qaeda disapproves of, they will like us.
Yeah, I seem to recall that the majority of the 911 Al-Qaeda terrorists were from the “Arabian Peninsula.”
This nonsense about AQ Iraq being a response to Gitmo was a complete invention of Obamsky and the DemocRat party, all part of their being OBSESSED with villifying anything and everything Bush did. And they are doing damn near everything Bush did, now that they have to deal with the Muzzies. So, closing Gitmo, or letting Muslim terrorists board planes to the US, these are their attempts to distinguish themselves from Bush and please their loonie Left.
>become a tremendous recruiting tool for al-Qaeda
If I was a potential-terrorist, and the worst that could happen to me was an all expenses stay at Club Gitmo, then that would indeed be a great draw for me, and that would indeed be a setback to our National Security interests.
Also an obsession with trying to blame jihadism on American acts. Liberals obsess with trying to make this connection, “the root cause is us” stuff.
But Obama said “explicit” so I bet there is a smidgen of overrated and misinterpreted evidence of a Gitmo causation. Something for the liberals to hold on to in order to maintain their world vision.
Actually, I think a Gitmo incarceration would be seen as a bonus within the group, earning admiration. Like with the Mafia.
What an ass.
“In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.”
In ‘fact’, sayeth Obomba. Making it up, day after day.
What a moron...
Make no mistake. Obama is a clear and present danger to the security of the United States.

“In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula”
He said it. Explicit. Will any journo ask him or cronies about the evidence for this?
Everything I find is this subgroup is focused not on world events, but the Saud Monarchy, and now Yemen, and forcing every single subhuman (non-Muslim) out of Saudi Arabia.
well, Bush started housing terror detainees there after the war started against Afghanistan in 2001 and we needed someplace to send the POW’s
So these obamite fools must think no one recognizes that al Qaeda was operating in the Arabian peninsula before 9-11
cuckoo! cuckoo! cuckoo!
Col. Jessep: *You want answers?*
Kaffee: *I want the truth!*
Col. Jessep: *You cant handle the truth!*
Col. Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said, “Thank you,” and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
