Looks like all these dims are retiring thinking their PO’d sheeple voters will vote for their dim replacement rather than vote against the former dim himself ...

I’d make the party pay - no matter who the dims run.

My guess is that it’s the same reason Dorgan is retiring. I do wonder if any more senate rats will retire?

In his statement, Dorgan said his retirement was borne out of the desire to spend more time with his family.

Sure, of course. Do damage to the country, then quit. Dodd has too much ego, something must be up.

Looks like another crook is grabbing his loot and getting out of town, while the getting is good.

I’m not too sure this is as good a sign as we first thought. Are they fleeing because they know something is up, or coming, and want to keep what they have already stolen, while we get stuck with the bill?

Misleading title; got my hopes up and everything - he still plans to infect the Capitol for another year...

dim replacement

I’m thinking the same. Voters, hopefully, know by now, all the ‘rats are the same - they all have whiskers and a tail.

IMO, Dodd’s retirement makes the position nearly a slam dunk for the Democrats.

They’re like sharks; if they smell blood, they’ll eat their own then replace them with a younger, stronger version.

Dodd can’t win. And the party knows it. That is why he is bagging it so early. NO doubt Rahmbo read him the riot act. The dems know they are in for a bad time in November and they are already looking to minimize their losses. They will likely retain Dodd’s seat. The party bosses in the north east rule with an iron fist. Dodd is of no use to them anymore and they know it. Bus meat Dodd.

“This has certainly been an interesting day in politics, with a significant number of Democratic elected officials announcing that they won’t seek reelection. Unlike the announcement from North Dakota and, to a slightly lesser extent, the announcement from Colorado (but perhaps more like the announcement from Michigan), this announcement may actually increase the Democrats’ chances to hold on to this seat. Still, tough to see Chris Dodd go. More as we hear it...”

One part of a waitress sandwich with Terdy Kennedy and people are actually sorry to see him go?

He77, I’ll buy him a drink but pass it thru my kidneys before I put it on his grave.

I agree. Maybe from the top? Spoiled merchandise needs to be replaced to keep the seat. Musical chairs might be in play.

Dodd shouldn’t be retiring, he should be on his way to prison.
