Chris Dodd to step aside (RETIRE)

Embattled Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd (D) has scheduled a press conference at his home in Connecticut Wednesday at which he is expected to announce he will not seek re-election, according to sources familiar with his plans.

Dodd's retirement comes after months of speculation about his political future, and amid faltering polling numbers and a growing sense among the Democratic establishment that he could not win a sixth term. It also comes less than 24 hours after Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.)

Dang, I was really looking forward to beating him. But I’ve suspected for a long time that O would offer him a plum assignment if he’d retire...maybe Ambassador to Ireland, where his “cottage” is.

I didn’t think they’d succeed in coaxing him out. Darnit.

Retiring to his cottage with a very large “chunk” of our money in his pocket. I am furious. Dodd should be going directly to jail over the Countrywide mess. So Rahm “Capone” pays off all of these criminals with our money stuffed in their pockets.

Bad, politically no, financial yes.

The DNC knows they are toast in many of these races and they are trying to hold onto these seats via replacements. They have no Lautenbergs to pull out of the graves for many of these, so they are gonna have to be fresh faces nationally, but known locals.

My hunch?

They got internals on the Massachuetts race and know Brown may clean Coakley's clock.

If it can happen in liberal MA what will the political blood-bath be for them in other states?

Easier to retire and get a job lobbying the new health care or go to work for Country Wide...

Good riddance to bad rubbish; someone please put him out of his misery; so the citizenry does not have to suffer his parasitic medical and retirement expenses!

You mean like Rahm cancelling the 2010 election due to security concerns evolving from the establishment of GITMO?

This cockroach is going to try to run with his millions and hide with the hope that we will forget his part in the destruction of America. I think not!!

Same here. I would bet Obama has an ultra-liberal candidate all lined up and enough ACORN staffers to insure his or her “victory” at the polls.

Here in Ct. the Majority of voters are Like the Black Community ,they continue to vote for Democrats even as they see them destroy the Country. In the Case of the Black Community they have seen their Families destroyed by Give away programs and they continue to vote over 90 percent for the people who do it to them.
In the Case of Dodd ,the news people are already touting another Slime bag Democrat Richard Blumenthal Attorney General as the Most Popular Politician in the State as Dodds Replacement,Stupid is as Stupid does.

I’d like to see WI on your list. With the pathetic performances Feingold gave at 2 listening sessions here on Mon., it just might be possible.

Dodd Gone Good

This is not good news at all! He was an easy kill. Now the RATS can put a fresh face in their with little baggage and win in a heavy RAT state.
