From ObamaCare to RomneyCare.
Romney, hated here on FR, would’ve been a better President than BO or Juan McLame...imo.
of course he is going to run again.
he ran once so now has name recognition
he has money up the wazoo
he never dismantled his organization keeps it going through PACs etc.
going on some cockamamee book tour in Iowa.
as long as he is not caught in bed with a dead girl or live boy he is going to run
whether he gets the nomination or not remains to be seen but i am convinced he will run again
But, if Huckabee dropped out when he should have, Mitt would have had a fighting chance to beat McLame for the 2008 nomination.
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t think that Romney will run? Especially with Obama looking weaker by the day?
I agree. Much better, especially with the economy.
This country needs a businessman at this time to fix/manage/work with business and the economy.
“Romney, hated here on FR, wouldve been a better President than BO or Juan McLame...imo.”
Romney, hated here on FR, would have been slightly less evil than theFascist Dictator, or The Psychopath”
There, fixed it.
We need a SECOND one.
Palin/Bolton in 2012
Still promoting Romney the liberal I see.
You rinos never give up!
I have a post on this site saying Romney is probably more conservative than his record because he had to govern in the People's Republic.
I am not exactly sure how or why I was applying a different standard to someone just because they are in the GOP. Particularly one who had to sell his soul to be governor in a place like Massachusets. Evidently I am an idiot.
|The nation is not in the mood for a f*cking RINO or moderate to be president, even though Obozo might try to appear that he's sliding to the center as 2012 approaches.
Only Dems masquerading as Republicans would want Romney as the nominee.
I think the movie “2012” has a higher possibility of happening than Romney.
The only man who can guarantee a second term for Obama.
You are right, we need someone with practical experience, like business experience- NOT someone who is a career politician who has dabbled in business (cough- Romney- cough). Although Romney’s myth is that he is a businessman, the reality is, his career with Bain for example, mostly consisted of taking credit for other’s work. By all appearances, he hasn’t gotten his hands dirty in real business since 1984. (I don’t count his later stints with Bain and his Olympic career as those were mostly just posing for the cameras while others shoveled the s&&&.)
The man is a Socialist!
These clueless fools! The mantra should be “If the American People want it, we will repeal or gut the healthcare takeover”. They’ve got their issue and these morons can’t figure out how to capitalize??
Why would Romney run? He has zero chance and would only be throwing away loads of money.
Romney, your “possibility” will be without my vote. Just become a dim-bulb-crat and get it over with.
Just serving notice to any who listens that RINO Romney WILL NOT get my vote under any circumstance. End of discussion.
.........but then again, who are we to keep Romney from his quest of becoming a god on the Star Kolob?
He would be doing conservatives a favor.
Hey, ya never know -- maybe he will, and mount a primary challenge against Zero.
I refuse to engage in Romney bashing.
His health care plan obviously has problems in Massachusetts. Fine. But such a plan—using the state as a “laboratory” is consistent with the vision of the Founding Fathers. Let the various states work on their own problems. If they work, others can imitate it. If they fail, others won’t.
I do think it is a problem if Mitt doesn’t acknowledge those problems or promote solutions...but that is a separate gig.
A Romney nomination guarantees another 4 years of Obama. Romney, Huck, McCain all need to take a flying leap and stop tainting our primaries.
I like Palin more, but Romney is a good man and a viable and likeable candidate.
Curious.........how is Romney a "likeable candidate"?
Perhaps in your circles, LOL, but not in mine.
“I refuse to engage in Romney bashing.”
No, you just bash those who bash Romney..LOL!
[This country needs a businessman at this time to fix/manage/work with business and the economy.]
A Republican who was for car bailouts, socialist healthcare and abortions. Yup, that’s all we need to turn back the tide.
Anyone would be better than BO, but Romney would have been pushing a lighter Socialist agenda, and conservatives would end up taking the blame for its disastrous results. Plus, he might have gotten more bad legislation passed, as Republicans would not object as much to one of their own. In the long run, a Romney presidency might have done even more damage than an Obama presidency.
At least with McCain, you pretty much know what to expect. Strong on security, fairly strong on spending, fairly strong on social issues, weak on illegal immigration and “climate change”, clueless on bailouts.
Romney has no discernable principles at all. He was a passionate Liberal in Massachussets and suddenly began feigning a similar passion of conservatism a few years ago, though he continues to defend his Socialist, RomneyCare, which is very similar to ObamaCare, with its mandate that all residents purchase health insurance.
What a display of arrogance.
Yeah, that is what we need...
rat-boy willard... NEVER AGAIN!
I have no prob with him running. Sarah will need cover. For example, if she is the clear front runner from the start of the primaries and has virtually no serious challengers, she will take way too much heat. Someone like Romney, who can’t win the nomination imho, can provide some cover and divert a little attention. Romney will make her look even more genuine and will also be the author of filthy attacks against her, garnering her som sympathy.
By traditional GOP protocol, it would be Romney's "turn" because he was the clear runner-up to McCain who was the clear runner-up to Bush. I have real problems with this system because it gave us candidates like McCain, Bob Dole and, to a lesser extent, Bush.
But we're not going to retake the whitehouse without the overwhelming majority of the Romney supporters on board and, like you, I refuse to p*ss on them.
I've noticed the Romney bashers basically fall into three categories:
1. The raving moonbat demographic who hate him mainly or solely because of his religion.
2. The promoters of equally poor or worse candidates like Mike Huckabee, some of whom are indistinguishable from category #1.
3. The rational majority who have misgivings because of his rather sparse political record, which includes his failure to distance himself from the health care fuster cluck in Massachusetts.
There was a rational reason that the majority of conservatives like Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity (and many of the rest of us) went into the Romney camp after Fred Thompson dropped out of the race: He was clearly the best candidate in the remaining field.
There is also a rational reason why we aren't going there now: There is clearly a better candidate in Sarah Palin.
He has zero chance and would only be throwing away loads of money.
The bright side of it is none of the money would have come from me.
I am in NO way a Romney fan but he’ll prove useful and formidable to Sarah Palin as she can use the primary debates with this experienced debater to hone her skills in articulating policy and vision while sharpening her rebuttal abilities. See, Mittens has some usefulness.
Romney would be as useful to Gov. Palin as
Brutus was to Caesar or Benedict Arnold to Pres. Washington.
Can’t say I didn’t try to find some usefulness for Mitty.
The NAMBLA crowd likes him.
Using states as laboratories is one thing, but using them as laborartories for Socialism is another.
What if a governor decided to experiment with a system of taxation and wealth redistribution, that would result in every resident of that state ending up with exactly the same after tax income? Would the “laboratory” concept justify that?
I just don’t find this guy “likable”. He makes my skin crawl.
