Newspapers' birth announcements: So what ?
WorldNetDaily ^ | January 07, 2010 | Jerome R. Corsi

Contrary to the claims of critics of citizens who demand Barack Obama produce evidence of his presidential eligibility, newspaper birth announcements in Hawaiian newspapers in 1961 did not necessarily indicate a baby was born in the state.

As WND reported, Glenn Beck ridiculed the so-called birther movement on his nationally syndicated radio show Monday, pointing to identical birth announcements published in the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin as evidence Obama was born in Hawaii and, therefore, is a natural-born citizen as required by the Constitution.

Beck, and two colleagues, mocked "birthers" for purportedly believing a wild conspiracy in which Obama's parents, knowing he would someday be president, "preemptively" collaborated with two separate newspapers to publish phony announcements stating he was born in Hawaii.

The eligibility clause in Article II is much older than 1922, and still applies under the original intent of the Framers, having never been amended or challenged. That’s why it matters.

I never said otherwise. My point was that you made assertions that weren't true. It most definitely does list an age.

You can rest your case all you like. You were wrong.

VERY QUIETLY OBAMA’S CITIZENSHIP CASE REACHES SUPREME COURT
AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has Released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College ... Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama’s legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey. This lawsuit claims Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio’s case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama’s citizenship or qualification to serve as president. Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general.

LET OTHER FOLKS KNOW THIS NEWS, THE MEDIA WON’T!

You have NO PROOF his mother left the country before he was born. Since she was a minor up to shortly before his birth, she would have required the permission of her own parents to leave the USA.

1. What's the big deal of parent's permission? All one needs IF asked is a piece of paper with the permission. Most all jurisdictions grant emancipation (status of majority) upon marriage, which Stanley Ann did in February 1961. Showing her marriage certificate should qualify her as able to leave the country. Who would you need to get permission from, your parents or spouse?

2. Stanley Ann Dunham turned 18 on November 29, 1960. The questionable time of here whereabouts begins after the end of 1959 Fall College Session, which ended after she was 18, and around the time she was married and emancipated.

3. Why has the state department stalled on an FOIA request for Stanley Ann Dunham's Passport records since November 2008? They admit they must produce them but they haven't yet. They can't stall forever.

Are you really that “f” n ignorant? Being born of one parent who is an American does not constitute “Natural Born”

Natural Born means born of two parents who are both American and on American controlled soil.............

Are you a troll or something?

I know of no one who believes their dumb conspiracy statement, and if that is their definition of "birther" then it doesn't include anyone on FR.

*Perhaps* some of us are Constitutionalist. For a definition, see my next post, below.

(Excerpted)

You might be a Constitutionalist if...

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that elected leaders should really obey the U.S. Constitution.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe the federal government should live within its means, like everyone else is forced to do.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you think that taking away people’s liberties in the name of security is neither patriotic nor does it make the country more secure.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you would like to see politicians be forced to abide by the same laws they make everyone else submit to.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you understand that we have three coequal branches of government that are supposed to hold each other in check and balance.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the federal government has no authority to be involved in education or law enforcement.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that gun control laws do nothing but aid and abet criminals while trampling the rights and freedoms of law abiding citizens.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the income tax is both unconstitutional and immoral and, along with the I.R.S., should be abolished.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you understand that freedom has nothing in common with illegal immigration.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you understand that outsourcing American jobs overseas is not good for America.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the United States should get out of the United Nations and get the United Nations out of the United States.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the Boy Scouts are not a threat to America.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the federal government should honor its commitments to America’s veterans.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that U.S. troops should never serve under foreign commanders or wear the uniform or insignia of the United Nations.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that the federal government has no business bribing churches and faith-based organizations with federal tax dollars.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that federal agents who murder American citizens should be held to the same laws and punishments that any other citizen would be held to.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you understand that NAFTA, GATT, the WTO, and the FTAA are disastrous compromises of America’s national sovereignty and independence.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you would like to see Congressmen and Senators be required to actually read a bill before passing it into law.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you understand that it is the job of government to protect and secure God-given rights not use its power to take those rights away.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that airport screeners have no business touching women’s breasts and confiscating fingernail clippers.

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you believe that governmental seizure of private property is plain, old fashioned thievery.

Thank you. I especially like these two:

-You might be a Constitutionalist if you would like to see politicians be forced to abide by the same laws they make everyone else submit to.

The author doesn’t know what is talking about. If Obama’s mother was an American citizen, he is a “natural born” citizen no matter where he was born.

Quite so. Glenn Beck has pegged the birthers nicely. They are a waste of time.

Obama's problem is not that he is constitutionally ineligible. Under the Constitution, he is a natural born citizen, and thus eligible to be president. Obama's problem is not that he fails the Constitution's fine print. Rather it is that he is not an American, natural born or otherwise, in his own mind!

Of course, the Sheeple were supposed to figure that out a year ago last November. But they didn't. He needs to fail big-time, so that even the Sheeple will recognize their mistake!

I respectively tell you that you are wrong and need to research natural born status a little more. If it was as easy as you state, then most of us wouldn't be following this so closely (including myself).

Besides, why won't he just get Hawaii to send his long form to major news organizations. It's not like it won't stop him from getting a higher job position.

The fact that they went to the trouble of digging up newspaper announcements instead of putting out his real birth certificate should tell people that there is a problem. I am sure there is a birth announcement for me, but I have never seen it. I present my BC when I need to. I don’t show a stupid newspaper clipping.

Not according to the Supreme Court. The 14th Amendment did not affect the preexisting requirement in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5. Nor does any law passed by Congress affect that requirement. There would have to be a constitutional amendment to affect that requirement.

I’ve seen the newspaper announcement, it looks doctored.

There are several curiosities about it, first is that it was discovered by a Hillary supporter that initially had problems getting a hold of it, second that the only duplicate source for it is the university library in Berkley, California, and the third is that it does not show the birth of Northdyke(?) twins during the same time frame.

Afterbirthers pointy to it as documentable proof that Obama was born here because they say that the newspapers only accept birth records from the state of Hawaii, and yet the Twins that were born in the same frame and at the same hospital as Obama supposedly was are noticeably absent from the newspaper records.

Thanks for the ping, LucyT.

Yep, the term *Constitutionalist* sure fits me. He seems to be using sarcasm as a way to avoid really addressing the problem....which is BO’s ineligibility.

It doesn’t matter how old the mother was if the father was Obama Sr. he can NOT be a natural born citizen. For those who argue that if he was born in Hawaii he is a natural born citizen: use some common sense. If that were the case, Osama Bin Laden could impregate someone, send her over here when it was time to deliver and that child could grow up to be President. If the framers were that stupid and short sighted we would never have survived as long as we have. I know common sense is in dangerously short supply these days but come on. You can’t be that stupid.
