Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and Rep. Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, have plans to ram through legislation that will produce universal voter registration. No matter what they claim, the rule changes will make it possible for illegal aliens to register to vote and for others to register multiple times.
The proposal is to register everyone on every welfare list, everyone getting unemployment insurance, everyone with a driver's license, everyone who has had run-ins with the legal system, everyone owning any property - basically everyone on every list the government keeps. People will be registered to vote whether or not they want to be registered. If individuals are on any public record, they will be automatically registered. . . .

We all know that's the biggest crock there is. I have several "poor" in my extended family that do not drive. Their income is < $15k per year, but each one of them has a photo ID card.
If the "poor" don't have the drive or are wiling to cough up the $5 to get a photo ID card, then they shouldn't vote anyway because they also won't have the drive to be informed voters.
That's a good thing too, if those that get food stamps and "assistance" knew anything at all about candidates they'd vote for 'Rats every single time.
The 'Rat leadership knows this, and we know why they are pushing for this. They're evil, not stupid.

Section. 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
I’m not thrilled with the implications of Section 2, but it has to be inforceable somehow. What do you suggest?
This is basically the Cloward-Pliven strategy applied to electoral politics. Overwhelm the system and you can kiss free elections goodbye....
