Yes, there are certainly a lot of American Jewish idiots out there who seemingly hate themselves and us. I don’t understand them and I don’t identify with them. There were Jewish idiots throughout history (check the Bible). But we must not make the leap to equate these secular idiots with G-d or the faith itself. We all know Christian idiots, certainly I do. But I don’t generalize from them that Christianity is wack because some idiot is wearing a cross. Similarly, I do not generalize that Judaism is wack because some secular idiot who obviously doesn’t care writes a screed against Sarah Palin or Christianity. All faiths have their idiots. Look to G-d for an example, not to idiots. There is no shortage of idiots...there is only one G-d.
