“Sea Shepherd claims to have saved hundreds of whales by chasing the Japanese fleet over a six-year campaign backed by Hollywood A-listers including Sean Penn, Martin Sheen and Pierce Brosnan.”

Who funds it? The usual suspects.

A-List Hollywood types including some guy named Ady Gil who donated this boat.

Paul Watson is such a fool and idiot that even Greenpeace has disowned him.

...now that's bad!

If that’s the skipper, I’d hate to see the cabin boy.

Unsinkable? I work on boats and I suspect too much hubris in the design and not enough flotation pockets.

I have seen canoes cut in half that refuse to sink because of built in flotation such as being foam filled.

And this vessel was sent to one of the most dangerous parts on earth?

For whatever “save the whales” aspect this is surely stupidity clouding mens minds.

Well, now their little "Bat Boat" can spend the rest of its days among the "World's Most Expensive Man-Made Reefs."

:-)

Maybe Greenpeace should have named their boat the PT-109, it seems another skipper drove his boat out in front of the Japs during WW2.

The Whalers continue to own the protesters. Their tactic of chartering flights to scout out the location protesters’ ships was brilliant. What was even more brilliant was to send out the Shonan Maru 2 as a decoy for the protesters the chase around the empty sea for a couple of weeks.

What complete moron builds a boat that looks like a whale and then uses it to annoy whalers?

There is a series called Whaling Wars on the cable channel Animal Planet that documents Paul Watson's ego-fueled foolish engagements with the Japanese whaling fleet, risking the lives of his crew.

Whatever merit there is for their anti-whaling effort, it is lost on their pirate mentality and absurd stupidity.
