I just heard the same thing....watching Cavuto.
Lutherans kickin it up again?
They should have an airlock and an ejection seat for terrorists and jerks on all planes.
Schumer flies Airtrans?
Those darn Amish!!
If someone were to do this on a flight that I was on, I would kick the ever-livin’ tar out of them.
Start charging these drunks $120,000 for costs instead of just letting them go because they were “not terrorist related”
Let me guess.
He hates Jews also.
I wonder if this is the same flight that Shep reported on an hour or so ago. In that case it was reported that a drunk passenger had locked himself in the restroom. They had a photo of LE hauling him away.
I’m flying that very same route in a couple of days, and I was just assuring my nervous elderly mother that nothing ever happens on the way from ATL to SF!
Oh well. Maybe this was just a passenger annoyed at not being able to read his Kindle in the last hour before landing...
I wonder if this “unruly” passenger is yelling hatred for the Jews too?
Those silly Jedi again!
It looks that way; apparently the new info is that fighter jets were scrambled.
You beat me! Internet is slow here (GoreBull warming and snow....).
Great. It’s gonna be one of those kind of years. a painski in the buttski..
I am placing myself on the won’t-fly list for 2010.
You sure it isn't those pesky Jehovah's Witnesses again? They can be a very persistent lot...
Any Airtran flight going in or out of Atlanta is the ACORN/homeboy express. I flew it once and sat next to a rapper wanna be.
A lot of “unruly” passengers lately.
The CBS affiliate in South Caroline tells 11 News a passenger on the plane called a family member, saying the flight was from Atlanta to San Francisco. The Colorado Springs Airport says it was an AirTran 737, flight #39 with 132 passengers on board. A passenger was drunk and argumentative and locked himself in the bathroom of the plane.
The flight landed in Colorado Springs and the man was immediately apprehended by Colorado Springs police.
The plane is still at a gate at this time. Passengers from the flight tell 11 News all of the passengers have been taken off the plane and are congregated in the concourse. No one was injured.
The FBI will be investigating the incident. NORAD tells 11 News they flew two F-16 fighters to respond to the scene.
NORAD released the following statement regarding the incident:
Two F-16 fighters under the direction of Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region launched at 11:44 a.m. MST today in response to reports of an unruly passenger aboard Air Tran Flight 39 from Atlanta bound for San Francisco.
The fighters arrived overhead of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport as the pilot of the commercial airliner landed the Boeing 737 there safely at approximately noon MST, where the plane was met by law enforcement.
NORAD’s mission - in close collaboration with homeland defense, security, and law enforcement partners - is to prevent air attacks against North America, safeguard the sovereign airspaces of the United States and Canada by responding to unknown, unwanted and unauthorized air activity approaching and operating within these airspaces, and provide aerospace and maritime warning for North America. NORAD may be required to monitor, shadow, divert from flight path, direct to land and/or destroy platforms deemed a potential threat to North America.
The Colorado Springs Airport tells 11 News there are no other delays at the airport as a result of this incident.

So, folks, there you go.
That’s their “plan”.
If something goes wrong, they’re gonna shoot you down.
Of course, there’s not much else they can do, so man up when called upon.
That guy from Ohio should have received a thorough ass-kicking from the passengers.
Perhaps he was upset that it was prayer time and the pilots wouldn’t turn the plane toward Mecca.

Haven’t flown since 1999. Coming up on ten years. Still taking plenty of trips. Driving. What a beautiful country we have. Looks a whole lot better close up as opposed to 30,000 feet.
OH BOY Laker fan at again???
Airtran Flt 39.
That’s the same flight number of the unruly passenger incident Wed., a Hawaiian Airlines flight out of Portland to Maui. Fighter jets were scrambled for that one too.
That thought just crossed my mind as I read the headline. Add that little nugget to the pre-flight safety talk. Put it on signs throughout the terminal.
Then follow up and go after the disruptors' money.
Would $120k actually cover scrambling jets? Better add in "pain and suffering" say, $500k to be disbursed to the other passengers and the crew.
Looks like NORAD has gotten the word to launch ANG escorts for all incidents now.
Actually Shemp is not in the loop either..
Both seem to be RINOS with their horns cut off..
You know............... moderates.. or stealth democrats..
Readers of copy composed by other hidden (Fox) democrats..
Yeah, but only after you're on the ground and the F-16s have returned to their base. Sidewinder missiles do a real number on unarmed passenger flights.
Oh,those crazy Catholics!(Sarcasm)
It was Tyndall AFB at Panama City, Florida flying F-22's.
If one flight full of people did it, it would never happen again...POSSE time...
Really! Seems like there is some sort of flight issue every day—is this my imagination or are these things occurring with more frequency?!
Thanks; I was just repeating what Cavuto said, but we all know how journalists are with this sort of thing - even good journalists.
>> flying F-22’s.
They can fly real slow.
I’ve seen some great things flying at 30K though - the way the Rockies hit Colorado - the oil wells down around Ok and Tx - the deserts of New Mexico - and the way that the wide open spaces of the border of Tx meets the maquilladoras of Mexico, full of squats boxes and smoke-belching factories.
Even travel by train can be awe-inspiring.
Well if they are scrambling F-16s for every drunk on a flight, you’ll be hearing about it once or twice a day.
Seems like a lot of tax money to make sure a guy doesn’t vomit with extreme prejudice on a stewardess.
So they have two modes now- ignore or overreact. Somehow, this is not comforting to me. It also shows me they still aren’t serious in the WH.
Good thing the fighters were able to catch up. Where were they on 9/11?
Yep.
Maybe they are scrambling jets every time this happens to keep everyone sharp and make sure the system is working. Just a thought.
Could be. Pretty expensive drill though - unless this has become the new method.
These aren’t a new form of drills. When the 142nd in Portland got the alarm for the flight to Hawaii on Wed they were surprised when it wasn’t called off before they took off and more surprised they made the entire flight.
Well, if f22s and F16s are being scrambled to accompany planess just because some bozo on it got drunk and abusive, I say: send the drunk tha bill. No reason we taxpayers should have to pay for it.
Good to know that these warriors are there ready to keep us safe.
What could they do, though, if there really was a terrorist on board? Shoot the plane out of the sky?
I fully agree they should be charged for the costs and you’re right, the only thing they can do is shoot the plane down to save additional lives on the ground, should it come to that.
I don’t know and I’m only guessing but I have a hunch the order came down from high to NORAD or the FAA that fighter cover would be launched for these incidents. I say high because the One or his flunkies can say he’s doing something if something bad does happen, it’s the classic CYA, I could be wrong though.
