Ditto. Trying to prevent the repercussions of an upcoming series of attacks.

“Very sobering message from Golda Meir’s personal bodyguard.”

In Middle East cultures lying is quite acceptable.

First of all, I doubt if there are more than three million Muslims in North America, and second the Muslims are commanded by the KORAN to lie to Infidels, and third, while they are against terrorism, they are for JIHAD against Infidels.

What the difference between JIHAD and terrorism?

None.

Yet another diversion and dishonest representation. Didn’t you read the “lost” addendum. It most likely said “we are mooslim. we want to kill you and your children. we want to blow you to bits, hack off your heads or poison you, you non-believers. we will do this as we get you to trust us. we hate you and your decadent western culture. death to the infidel.” moist likely, that was all left off the announcement by this purported “imam”.

Haven't read through the 258 other messages yet but this sounds like a CYA in one sense and also and sort of psuedo-peace fatwa. These generally turn into wars. For instance, America is disgusted with the Ft Hood, the Underwear bomber, the NYC terrorist( busted by NYC police, the other FBI case in Houston where an islamic person bought fake explosives from undercover operators of the FBI

I'm willing to bet there are numerous smaller arrests NOT made in America and Canada that don't get the high profile stuff the ones above listed are given but these high profile failures by Islam to kill innocent Americans once again are making "WE THE PEOPLE" so furious we're slamming Islam ( even after the 7 CIA operators MURDERED in Afghanistan) with attempting to really PROFILE these SOB's the way Israel does this or maybe even stronger. This tie with Israel or even considering this way of "profiling" El Al does is in direct conflict with any Imam's beliefs and shatters the attempts to further ATTACK America because they've again found loopholes in our free system.

Therefore, IF we do go for the profiling Israel does, which would probably be against what even Obama the "present" voter, the psuedo-(alleged)-Christian backslider-pro-muslim-apologizer would never do but if he does this fatwa issued by the Imam would show complete "loss of face( more an asian term but works here) and he can declare all mosques and muslims in America and Canada under attack and foreces muslims here and in Canada to be "forced" to choose all out war.

This is just a perception and I may be wrong but this fatwa was not as much a CYA as it was a carefully planned 'line in the sand" and warning not to step over the boundaries and freedoms the US and Canada has already given muslims. I believe there ARE peaceful muslims but their doctrines if followed through are directly anti- Christian/Jewish atheist, Hindu, Buddhist(ad nauseam) and all other beliefs. Therefore again, this fatwa is not as peaceful as it sounds especially when right in the Qur'an it states one can lie to their enemy( how the CIA operatives were MURDERED) and we are ALL infidels and just dhimmi( if we comply and then taxed or forced into slums NO MATTER we "convert") in their eyes according to their hadith and their Qur'an. The Imam is a sly demon. He's also in a sense issuing a further statement of war which "sounds" so peaceful.

This fatwa to America and Canada is just another move forward to all out antagonism between muslims that want NO part of radical viewpoints to take action IF America and Canada attempt to treat muslims IN ANY WAY as enemy, as second class citizens or whatever CAIR draws up

I call BS on this fatwa. It's the sly setting up of landmines while people actually THINK this is in any way, shape or, form a fatwa of peace toward the very people who the Imam and his followers consider and will always consider INFIDELS. BS! BS! BS! and camel poopie.

Understanding Taqiyya ― Islamic Principle of Lying for the Sake of Allah by Warner MacKenzie 30 April, 2007 Lying and cheating in the Arab world is not really a moral matter but a method of safeguarding honor and status, avoiding shame, and at all times exploiting possibilities, for those with the wits for it, deftly and expeditiously to convert shame into honor on their own account and vice versa for their opponents. If honor so demands, lies and cheating may become absolute imperatives.” [David Pryce-Jones, “The Closed Circle” An interpretation of the Arabs, p4] “No dishonor attaches to such primary transactions as selling short weight, deceiving anyone about quality, quantity or kind of goods, cheating at gambling, and bearing false witness. The doer of these things is merely quicker off the mark than the next fellow; owing him nothing, he is not to be blamed for taking what he can.” [David Pryce-Jones, “The Closed Circle”, p38] The word "Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one's beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies. In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving, vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling or pre-emptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims. Falsehoods told to prevent the denigration of Islam, to protect oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned in the Qur'an and Sunna, including lying under oath in testimony before a court, deceiving by making distorted statements to the media such as the claim that Islam is a “religion of peace”. A Muslim is even permitted to deny or denounce his faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the interests of Islam, so long as he remains faithful to Islam in his heart. (See endnotes) Like many Islamic practices, taqiyya was formed within the context of the culture of Arab tribalism, expansionary warfare, Bedouin raiding and inter-tribal conflict. Taqiyya has been used by Muslims since the 7th century to confuse, confound and divide 'the enemy’. A favoured tactic was ‘deceptive triangulation’; used to persuade the enemy that preparations for a raid were not aimed at them but at another tribe altogether. The fate in store for the deceived enemy target was an unexpected plunderous raid, enslavement of the women and death to the post-pubescent males. snip http://www.islam-watch.org/Warner/Taqiyya-Islamic-Principle-Lying-for-Allah.htm

Sure. And plenty of people here in this culture lie regularly as well.

But in this instance, since so many individuals are involved, it may be a harbinger of things to come. Muslims coming together, united, to make a cultural/political stance in public. Islam has no central authority like the Roman Catholic Pope in Rome.

Now in the U.S.A., we may have the germ of something unique in all of Islam.

Pleas note I said ‘we may’. I am not going to scoff at these concerted actions on the part of American Muslims, but live the words of Reagan: trust but verify.

Interesting read.....

The doctrine of taqiyya

Much of this revolves around the pivotal doctrine of taqiyya, which is often euphemized as “religious dissembling,” though in reality simply connotes “Muslim deception vis-à-vis infidels.” According to the authoritative Arabic text Al-Taqiyya fi Al-Islam, “Taqiyya [deception] is of fundamental importance in Islam. Practically every Islamic sect agrees to it and practices it. We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream. … Taqiyya is very prevalent in Islamic politics, especially in the modern era [p. 7; my own translation].”

Some erroneously believe that taqiyya is an exclusively Shia doctrine: as a minority group interspersed among their traditional enemies, the much more numerous Sunnis, Shias have historically had more “reason” to dissemble. Ironically, however, Sunnis living in the West today find themselves in a similar situation, as they are now the minority surrounded by their historic enemies — Christian infidels.

The primary Koranic verse sanctioning deception vis-à-vis non-Muslims states: “Let believers [Muslims] not take for friends and allies infidels [non-Muslims] instead of believers. Whoever does this shall have no relationship left with Allah — unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions” (3:28; other verses referenced by the ulema in support of taqiyya include 2:173, 2:185, 4:29, 16:106, 22:78, 40:28).

Al-Tabari’s (d. 923) famous tafsir (exegesis of the Koran) is a standard and authoritative reference work in the entire Muslim world. Regarding 3:28, he writes: “If you [Muslims] are under their [infidels’] authority, fearing for yourselves, behave loyally to them, with your tongue, while harboring inner animosity for them. … Allah has forbidden believers from being friendly or on intimate terms with the infidels in place of believers — except when infidels are above them [in authority]. In such a scenario, let them act friendly towards them.”

Regarding 3:28, Ibn Kathir (d. 1373, second in authority only to Tabari) writes, “Whoever at any time or place fears their [infidels’] evil may protect himself through outward show.” As proof of this, he quotes Muhammad’s close companion, Abu Darda, who said, “Let us smile to the face of some people [non-Muslims] while our hearts curse them”; another companion, al-Hassan, said, “Doing taqiyya is acceptable till the Day of Judgment [i.e., in perpetuity].”

Other prominent ulema, such as al-Qurtubi, al-Razi, and al-Arabi, have extended taqiyya to cover deeds. In other words, Muslims can behave like infidels — including by bowing down and worshiping idols and crosses, offering false testimony, even exposing fellow Muslims’ weaknesses to the infidel enemy — anything short of actually killing a Muslim.

Is this why the Muslim American sergeant Hasan Akbar attacked and killed his fellow servicemen in Iraq in 2003? Had his pretense of loyalty finally come up against a wall when he realized Muslims might die at his hands? He had written in his diary: “I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill.”
