Bill Clinton was at the centre of a race storm last night after he was accused of denigrating Barack Obama. The former president allegedly claimed during the hard-fought Democratic primary race: A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee. He is said to have made the racist remark in a phone call entreating Senator Teddy Kennedy, the partys vastly influential elder statesman, to endorse his wife, Hillary, in the delicately balanced 2008 nomination battle.
But the call so offended Senator Kennedy that it backfired and helped make up the veteran Washington power brokers mind to throw his complete support behind Mr Obamas historic bid for the White House, according to a new book...
...the coffee controversy has opened old wounds from the campaign trail when Mr Clinton was accused of being racially dismissive about the underdog who went on to derail his wifes White House dreams...
Last night, he was unavailable for comment about the new claim, which is featured in a new book about the presidential election called Game Change. American political writers John Heliemann and Mark Halperin claim in the book, which is published in the US Monday, that Mr Clinton made the call on the day after Mr Obama won a key primary in Iowa....
The book also claims Mrs Clinton, now in Mr Obamas Cabinet as US Secretary of State, was keen to seize on claims of her rivals past drug use to try and press home an advantage.
She is depicted as being pleased when her New Hampshire campaign chairman Bill Shaheen mentioned that Mr Obama took drugs as a young man. Good for him, she is quoted as saying. Lets push it out. She was later persuaded by her staff not to try and capitalise on the controversy...

Point. He would probablu be incompetent at serving coffee as well. Good point.
Not really. Just the regular old I-9.
“....said to have made the racist remark ...”

I don’t see this as Klintoon making a racist remark, I see it as Klintoon commenting on Zero’s staggering incapability to do anything right - short of fetching a cup of coffee.
I’m wondering why we hadn’t heard of this before now? I realize this is coming out in a new book, but still...there must be some reason this was never *leaked* before.
I thought the same thing... when I saw the title with the quote, my first thought was Obama’s complete lack of experience. which would make him the junior b****, or the suck-up who gets the coffee. (would saying brown-noser be racist?)
How is that racist? Can only black people get coffee? I think Clinton would have been referring to the fact that Obama was a person who had never actually 'accomplished anything'.
Because the reporters were saving it for their book, which they planned to publish when it could do no political damage to their Democratic Overlords. One of the authors is a Time magazine editor and writer Mark Halperin. Does that tell you anything?
It’s ok, Eleanor Holms Norton says Bill Clinton
has plenty of “Racist Credits” built up to counter
any statements he might have made. Just watch.
How does having someone get you coffee racist?
***
Good point (though it pains me to take up for that scum Clinton).
You were doing good untile you put sugar and cream into it.
You’re right. Being personally racist was never one of Bill’s problems. He took the measure of Obama as a politician and decided Obama should be in charge of coffee.
This statement is demonstrably false.
It implies that Obama would had to have held a real job at some point in his life.
Im wondering why we hadnt heard of this before now? I realize this is coming out in a new book, but still...there must be some reason this was never *leaked* before.

Yeah, especially when Teddy can neither confirm nor deny.
True dat.
Interesting that this comes out just as Clinton was being touted for going to Mass. to campaign for that 'rat woman. Wonder what he thinks about her behind the scenes?
Or perhaps these people think pointing out that BO was inexperienced and clueless is in and of itself racist. You are not allowed to criticize in any way whatsoever, or you are a racist.
