Actually a pretty good list. The GOP needs to incorporate these into a “Contract with America,” and they need to do this every election. Just they cannot survive just by watching the Ds do stupid stuff and then try to “tone down the stupid stuff.”

The GOP is ‘Rat lite. The same forces that control ‘Rats control the ‘Phants. Until the GOP makes actual cuts, it’s the SOS.

I think he hit well with those ten items, but I’d further demand some language, and of course some action on an energy policy that would set us back on course very quickly especially with making the tax cuts permanent.

A good list, IMHO.
-#8,9,10 are apparent to conservatives and “street-level” GOP’ers, but I think there are still some at the top who don’t get it. Those guys (The Nat’l GOP, etc.) blew it when they held the reins, at least on the size of government and spending. Take your medicine and get back to the things that brought you to power in the first place (hint: it wasn’t more government spending), guys.
#1 is as timeless as it is correct. We saw a bit of Reaganism on display in Bob McDonnell’s (successful) campaign in Virginia. We need a lot more of that.

All 10 points are solid. I am sure the ‘GOP insiders’ will promptly ignore them.

This list needs to be attached to a SPINE, which the GOP sorely lacks.

3) Start talking about the need to reform Social Security and Medicare. Swing voters know these programs could devastate federal finances. They want assurance that politicians know this, too, and are committed to fixing them. Talk of reforming these programs is no longer the third rail of politics. It will win the swing voters' respect.Going to be nearly impossible to do this given the "don't mess with Medicare" mantra of both the GOP and the Tea Party groups as it relates to health care.
