But Dodd, who is retiring this year, said it's an issue that needed to be dealt with otherwise it would "strangle our economy," he said.
Oh - so now we're worried about issues that "have to be dealt with". . .where the heck was he when Bush was trying to deal with Social Security -- that will also strangle our economy, and very likely much sooner than health care ever will.

Times are tough but I would definitely be willing to contribute a pair of scissors to the cause.
If this abomination fails, we should all recognize that a miracle has taken place and thank God Almighty.

Everyone keep the pressure on Reid and call your senators to denounce him.
1. Creates a distraction.
2. Buys time for Scott Brown.
3. Strengthen the hand of House liberals for their version, which is unacceptable to several Senate RATS.
This is why you see House Progressives coming to Reid’s defense - it means more concessions to Pelosi in order to save Reid’s rear end.

Reid said most of the fall that they wouldn’t be tackling the health care bill until after Christmas and then, voila. We see that it’s been incubating in secret, dark places. So now I see any such declarations in a similar way. I assume it’s a lie. However, you would think that it being so close would give conservatives and others who despise this bill all the more reason to call and confront their congresspeople, which they hate. Maybe this is secret language and somehow a signal to get a larger personal payoff when he leaves the Senate. Only the principals involved understand the message. Don’t know.

It’s been “hanging by a thread” since they put the first sentence on a page.
And yet, here we are. :)

"If this is all about surviving politically, then we're missing the whole purpose of what we're supposed to be doing," (Dodd) said. That's rich, coming from a guy who is retiring solely because his replacement will have a better chance at political survival.

The Obama voters are screaming because their prescriptions went up on Medicare D from $14 to $90 after Jan 1.
Hey guys; you voted for this. Just think the bill’s hasn’t even passed. Think of the horrors you are going to endure if it does?

You just can't make people happy these days.
* Burn them at the stake (The Wickans won't like that)
* Shoot them (No the gun grabbers will be up in arms)
* Throw them to the wolves (PETA objects. Although I must admit feeding Pelosi's plastic face to a canine would be cruelty to animals)
* Hurl them off a cliff (FAA objects to unauthorized flights)
* Cut off their heads (Too French)
* Lethal Injection (Oh like a massive injection of drugs is going to cause any noticeable change to Barbra Boxer)

Thread? I prefer to think of it as a couple of bloody misshapen and frayed surgical gauze strips, one from an abortionist’s floor, and the other from the floor of a room where U.S. Citizen’s will soon die due to the health care system our government is about to destroy.
Hang in there Dodd. You may yet be able to foist this morbid reality off on the citizens of the United States.
