Scott Brown 'Money-Bomb' Brings In Big Money
Talking Points Memo ^ | January 11, 2010 | Eric Kleefeld

Posted on 01/11/2010 6:50:35 PM PST by Clintonfatigued

A "money-bomb" online fundraiser by Scott Brown, the Republican candidate in next week's special election for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in Massachusetts, has been a smashing success today.

The original goal for the money-bomb, entitled "Red Invades Blue," was to raise $500,000 today. As of this writing, he has exceeded that goal -- he is now at $626,375.87 -- and he's headed towards a new goal of $750,000.

Regardless of whether Brown wins or loses in this Democratic state, one thing is clear: National conservative activists have been able to take a clear interest in this race, and they could mobilize themselves for a cause in a similar way to the liberal Netroots during the Bush years.

Late Update: At about 6:15 p.m. ET, the money-bomb reached $750,018.81.

This is phenominal. We The People are speaking through this money bomb and support for the Brown campaign. And we may get what was once unthinkable- the people of Massachusetts speaking with us.

I hope Dick Morris is right. If Brown wins, Obama will never win again because democrats will be too afraid to support his agenda.

Losing the Ted Kennedy memorial entitlement seat will be a demoralizing disaster for the democrats.

I think you MA folks have got POTUS Obama upset!!! Press Secretary Gibbs announced today that POTUS Barack Hussein Obama (The total failure President) will not be going to MA to campaign for Martha Coakley. It means he is afraid Coakley is going down, and her loss to Scott Brown would be a major defeat placed squarely on his incompetent at everything he touches shoulders!!! Folks in MA you have a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to derail this socialist POTUS, which is justified in of itself, but more importantly, your vote for Scott Brown strikes a solid blow for American freedom and individual liberty now being destroyed by the likes of Barack Hussein Obama and his insane Democrat Party, We the people of the other 49 states, myself included, have given finanacial and blog support to Scott Brown. Only you good folks of all political stripes in MA can do in Barack Hussein Obama, his socialist, anti-American Democrat Party and their weak choice for the Senate, Martha Coakley!!!! VOTE FOR SCOTT BROWN on JANUARY 19th, 2010!!!!!

If you go to the Boston newspaper websites and read the comments you’ll be amazed. There is some real anger in Massachusetts. Even on the Globe website (very liberal, owned by the NYTimes) there are some MA folks who are very angry at their politicians and the Democratic party. When the Dems said that they wouldn’t seat Brown if he won- that was the last straw.

I don’t draw the same conclusion you do. I think Gibbs said Obama isn’t going because he [Obama] will drag her numbers down ...

It is insane around here (Massachusetts). Brown lawn signs are everywhere, even in the liberal strongholds of Brookline, Newton and Wellesley. Went to the Brown headquarters in Littleton on Sunday morning and they were completely out of lawn signs and bumper stickers.

Get ready for a pleasant surprise next Tuesday night.

It would be great to see the race for Teddy’s old seat; be the spark that turns around the Obama disaster.
