This will be a massive human disaster.

7.3...only 20miles deep...oceans.

The entire Gulf of Mexico...especially Florida is at risk. In fact, if there is a tsunami, it's probably there now.

Just speculating. Wouldn’t an earthquake under shallow water produce less of a tsunami due to the fact it wouldn’t have to move as much water?

Prayers up for all the victims.

That is a logical thing to ask.

Being unfamiliar with the dynamics of earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., I have no idea but you ask a very good question.

Based on location, Gitmo, Columbia, Jamaica and Venezuela are the most likely to suffer if there is a Tsunami.

Don’t know the answer but i’ve been up and down the caribbean and those islands are many and close. The potential for tsunami damage could be across many islands.

Good advice Tara, an earthquake on the west coast (west of Ferndale California), an earthquake in the Carribean, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that Someone is trying to get our attention.

5.5 and 5.9 aftershocks. The 5.9 is some ways to the southwest of the original quake.

Does anyone have the link to the ring of fire earthquake maps that were posted on here the other night? I should have saved them then and I didn’t.

Thanks.
