...a repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy...
And what would be wrong with that? Soldiers should be judged on their behaviour while on duty and their ability to follow orders, not on the fact that they let slip that they stay with a boyfriend while on leave.
Simply use the same rules that heterosexual soldiers have to follow with regard to female soldiers and apply them (i.e. the army is not a dating service, other soldiers aren't there for amusement purposes). Whoever can't comply is out.
DADT is just hate-crime legislation in reverse (in that you single out a group for what they are or think and make up special rules instead of having the same set of rules for everyone and jugde everyone by his or her actual transgressions), both are moronic. Typically left-wing identity politics.

wolf, if you Brits like queers in your military so much, you can take ALL of ours.
We don’t intend for our military to be another leftist social experiment or, worse, an infiltration of people with behaviors that deliberately undermine the strength of the organization.
I happen to think “Don’t ask, don’t tell” is pretty generous. If queers really just want to serve and have no ulterior motive, they should be fine with the policy.
