Hood massacre report gutless and shameful
NY Post ^ | January 16, 2010 | Ralph Peters

Posted on 01/16/2010 3:20:15 AM PST by Scanian

There are two basic problems with the grotesque non-report on the Islamist- terror massacre at Fort Hood (released by the Defense Department yesterday):

* It's not about what happened at Fort Hood.

* It avoids entirely the issue of why it happened.

Rarely in the course of human events has a report issued by any government agency been so cowardly and delusional. It's so inept, it doesn't even rise to cover-up level.

"Protecting the Force: Lessons From Fort Hood" never mentions Islamist terror. Its 86 mind-numbing pages treat "the alleged perpetrator," Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, as just another workplace shooter (guess they're still looking for the pickup truck with the gun rack).

The report is so politically correct that its authors don't even realize the extent of their political correctness -- they're body-and-soul creatures of the PC culture that murdered 12 soldiers and one Army civilian.

Well apparently this will end the so-called stepped up call for superiors to report suspecious activity by the Muslim soldiers.

PC is alive and well. If you report you are a bigot. The pentagon is speaking with forked tongue.

The political hacks in charge of our military got the report the great zero demanded.

Thanks for posting.

Peters, as usual, doesn't pull any punches. His report is no surprise to anyone who watched this horror unfold.

“Rarely in the course of human events has a report issued by any government agency been so cowardly and delusional.”

It was delusional gutlessness in the organization that allowed the massacre. Anyone who believed that a military culture that had been two generations in the making, two generations of expelling or marginalizing Respecters of the Truth would suddenly NOT be what it was, is himself delusional. The military today is as PC or MORE PC than it was the very day of the massacre.

It will continue this way until it fails utterly in it's mission. Only catastrophic failure will destroy the cancer.

Reading the report, you get the feeling that, jeepers, things actually went pretty darned well down at Fort Hood.

I suppose Obama's DOD could say,

"The system worked."

the official who declined to be named...

“A senior official in President Barack Obama’s administration declined to say whether Hasan might have been taking orders from abroad but did call the shooting “an act of terrorism.”

It was a rare use of the phrase by an administration official to describe the Fort Hood killing spree.

“It certainly in my mind was an act of terrorism as far as the tactic that was used,” the official, who declined to be named, told reporters.”

Imagine the mortification of being deployed to the ME - with the current asinine ROE's and the ambivalence of the Obamites - while chair polishing brass produces crap like this report. This sucks.

This is possibly the best report ever written in the history of our military. Anyone who reads this report with an open mind will (1) know EXACTLY why the military did nothing about an obvious threat to the lives of our soldiers, and (2) know that the problems have not been solved and will not be solved under the current leadership. It’s unfortunate that PC has reached this level, but at least the report proves that political correctness is more important to the current administration than the safety of our soldiers. That’s better than hiding the danger.

Combat experienced military should be allowed to be armed at all times, everywhere.

It’s obvious that “no guns on base” doesn’t work.

I don't know which report the NY Post read, but the NY Daily News had this to say:

The report recommended that Army Secretary John McHugh consider career-ending reprimands for "several" officers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Fort Hood who supervised Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist.

Knowing Togo West was appointed as an “investigator”, expected nothing less than a complete crapola PC report - no surprise here...

One of the principals in charge of the report is the infamous Togo West, among other things Clinton's Sec of Defense. He gave out waivers for burials in Arlington Cemetery for political reasons. For example one was given to "Friend of Bill" political contributor M. Larry Lawrence.
The waivers were issued in spite of objections by the Cemetery's administrator,

Mr. Peters is right on the money. Real rare honesty from anyone in the MSM on ‘multicultural’ issues. However make no mistake about it. This is not just the case with Obamanation and his minions/administration or even the Left in general. This is a totally systemic problem in American society today. The GOP is certainly eat up with it and even many here are prone to PC’ness. Hell, all American institutions have become enmeshed in it including our churches and schools. It is destroying this nation. The cultural/Marxist revolution was and is very real.

"Military discipline" has always translated into "getting ahead by going along." This is just the latest manifestation. The responsibility for any structural service-related problem lies with the C-in-C because everything in the military flows top-down.

A corollary to this is that if the C-in-C doesn't want to admit to there being a structural problem, getting-ahead-by-going-along dictates that no such problem will be found (as here).

The “fact-finding” board includes Togo West an affirmative action POS who was appointed by Clinton as Sec. of the Army. He also ran Veteran’s Affairs-and was a fatcat lobbyist.

I sort of feel for the officers—if they HAD flagged this scumbag Hasan, it probably would have ended their careers in today’s PC military—so they turned a blind eye—and look what happened.

It probably won’t happen soon-but we need to purge the military of all the affirmative action, PC, horsecrap—get them out of the business of social labaratoty, welfare giver, babysitter, etc. and back to how it was 50 or more years ago. Fat chance of that.

They’ll just feed us feel-good pablum about how the military is “so much better” now than it ever was. Until some lovely vibrant Muslim rolls a grenade into a tent or pulls a Ft. Hood, or some more black Marines gang rape a 10 year old girl on Okinawa again.

Kumbayah, my ass......

Exactly. But it ain't gonna happen - until we are finally driven to the wall and our very national survival is at stake. Even then, it is problematical if it will.

The problem is that deep and pervasive. Hundreds, maybe even thousands, of jihadist murders won't reverse the mindset. Decades of PC Liberalism driven into our culture is now too firmly rooted in the national psyche. This is a mortal threat.

The report recommended that Army Secretary John McHugh consider career-ending reprimands for "several" officers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Fort Hood who supervised Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist.

Ralph Peters read the same report - roll a few heads and call it a day.

The report did not address at all why those superiors acted in the way they did. The PC culture in the military that punishes those who demand the same behavior and performance from muslim officers and soldiers as they expect from Christian soldiers.

Apparently, nobody dared give a bad report of a muslim cleric, because they correctly assumed it would be their ass in a sling, not Hasan's.

There career ending reprimands are deserved, but the culture will remain exactly the same.
