I don't like guns. I've never handled a gun. I was not raised in a family that hunted. I disagree with the bumper stickers that say, "Guns don't kill people. People kill people." My response has always been, people with guns kill people.
I'd never been touched by gun violence until almost two years ago when gunfire rang out in my town's city hall.
And then last Thursday, shots rang out again on a cold snowy day at the ABB Inc. offices in north St. Louis when all we should have been worrying about were icy roads. Before the gunman killed himself, he left three innocent people dead and five more injured.
We hear all the time about suicide bombers in the Middle East. And we shake our heads and think, how can people live like that? But how different is our society?
We don't have suicide bombers; we have suicide gunmen — in our marketplaces (recently, Omaha and Salt Lake City), in our schools (Columbine, Virginia Tech, Northern Illinois University, to name just a few) and in our city halls and in too many workplaces to mention. These gunmen are terrorists just as much as the suicide bombers in other lands.
The names of towns where such massacres happen start to run together. Our news people rattle them off, and, as viewers, we gasp, but then we look away and get on with our lives. We shake our heads, but the gun violence occurs on such a regular basis that it's hard to keep track.

Judy’s father failed her in that he did not teach her to respect firearms or give her firearms safety training while raising her.
By doing that he instilled in her a lifetime fear and angst of inanimate objects.
If guns cause crime, then all of mine must be defective.
Why isn’t this kind of visceral fear of an inanimate object considered a clinical psychological problem?
My Beretta 92fs is always in one of two locations: on my hip, or in the safe. It has never maliciously harmed an innocent person from either location.

At least the opening is honest...an article based on ignorance and prejudice. This is liberalism at its best. The message to the world is we prefer to be ignorant and its OK when we’re biased.
Again, basic ignorance gets in the way of a logical argument. The desire to kill is why people die, Judy. If a gun wasn’t available, then the criminal would use a club. Or a knife. Or a brick. Or a broken bottle. Or a hammer. A criminal can do a great amount of damage with any of those weapons, Judy.
Wake up, stop drinking the liberal kool-aid and try looking at FACTS when you make an argument, not your emotions.

Let me tell you a story, when the CCW law came up for a vote, I was undecided until I read the the front page of the Post-Dispatch (liberal ragsheet it is). They spent most of that page plus several inside pages to the knee-jerk, chicken little argument of "What if?". They also ran a smaller story from the pro-CCW side. The difference? The anti's arguments were nothing but emotional blathering and doomsday spin. The pro-CCW arguments were concise, factual and backed up by numerous statistics. Needless to say, I voted for it and have been a strong proponent of the 2nd ever since.
People who are against guns are no different than those who were against the CCW. Their response will always be emotional and chicken little-ish and should be dismissed for what it is.
To be scrupulously fair to Judy, guns make it much easier to kill people. Which is kind of the point.
If Judy were attacked by a 6-4 300 pound escaped convict, she would have zero chance of defending herself unarmed.
If she has a gun and sufficient time to use it, she has an excellent chance.
The fewer weapons in a society the greater the advantage of physical strength and size. Which sort of leaves women in the lurch. Very odd that more women, particularly feminists, don’t realize this.
Cuts both ways dumbo!
Judy seems to be running her life on emotion. That’s more destructive than any gun.
So lets start by taking guns away from law abiding citizens so that Judy can become less frightened. I wonder how frightened she is going to be when only the criminals haven't complied with the ban?

People with cars kill people, with sticks, stones, pillows, poisons,arrows,hair sprays, electric cords and appliances. If someone wants you dead, there are countless ways to do it.
It might be said that guns are the most efficient way to kill, and that is one of their design functions, but by their own self. Not a chance.

A profound statement my friend. Most liberals run on emotion.(Hope and Change) Critical thinking is something they can not grasp. If I hear “I tend to follow my heart” one mor time I will puke. It only takes one good rape to turn a liberal into a conservative. But that is a way hard lesson.

Simple minds like Judy will never understand. By the way, most of the regular networks had tons violent type of shows and a huge variety of weapons like chain saws, knives, machetes, etc, etc. etc. Hell lets just ban the world. Saw one the other day and a rock was the weapon of choice. Made me sick to know that now we have to ban rocks!
And of course Judy’s lunacy should provide AMPLE cause to overthrow the people’s right to keep and bear arms! After all, we MUST bow to Judy’s will, or we just won’t be “good people!”

Obviously, anybody with guns are bad. So the first thing we need to do is disarm the police, since they have guns, making the police bad. After the police are disarmed, then we can disarm the criminals.

Author is Going along with a proposed city Law that makes it illegal for anyone to possess a unsecured, loaded or unloaded firearm in the presence of children under age 17.
This was proposed in St Louis city Council last Tuesday.
Makes anyone carrying a firearm, even with a CCW License, unlawful in the presence of children.. I don’t know about anyone else. but when I visit St Louis I certainly feel my life is in more danger from criminal elements, than any other place in the state.
I am pretty fond of self preservation which includes legal firearm possession.
