If I recall correctly, these children were all in the process of being adopted by American families, but all their paperwork has been lost. I hope that their adoptions are able to proceed.

Cold hearted it may seem, but where is South America taking these orphans? How about France since it was a french colony? Who else is opening up or is it just us Americans, just us Americans trying to make up for our guilts.

The grandstanding by the POLs is terrible. Clinton and Chelsea don’t need to be there..they aren’t going to work and take up space that could be carrying workers or supplies.

Many of these children were in process of being adopted. Why is not a bipartisan effort in progress to bring those children to their new parents? Sounds like a faint to get attention away from the election tomorrow..I know that is cold...glad he is doing this but just sayin.

France does adopt Haitian children as does US couples (we almost adopted there ourselves and have friends who did). All the snarky comments about these orphans are a sad comentary on some folks here. These orphans existed before the earthquake, now there are more of them. Children have no hand in the circumstances they find themselves in.

” f the 61 arriving, 41 of the children have already been adopted, and a few of them are very sick, said officials.”

Not sure why Rendell has to be aboard..... , but, kudos to the rest of the medical team and the adoptive families helping these kids.
It’s only a matter of time before the Obamas announce they are adopting a Haitian orphan .

Yes, it helps to know the story of these children before commenting in disgust about their arrival, particularly since they will soon become American citizens. There was a rather long televised spot on them that I watched. ALL of their adoption records were destroyed in the demolished government buildings. ALL of them were due to be adopted by American families.

They were shown outside the home of the orphanage directors, they couldn't go inside that house because it was too 'shaky' and the orphanage building itself had been destroyed in the earthquake.

So all these orphans who'd been chosen by American families for adoption were living in a courtyard, with no hope of retrieving the adoption documents in order to get passports & final official okays on their adoptions.

Obama and the left’s plan is to bring millions of Haitians to America by bringing in orphans followed by 1,000 other family members per child.

The American public is being conned again by this tear jerker story.

It is terrible.

Last night I saw a scene of a front end loader scooping up hundreds bodies outside the hospital and dumping them into a dump truck to go for a mass burial. Brutal, gruesome, words for the scene escape my mind.

We can’t take all these orphans. Haiti needs world wide help, not just the Americans.

Ping to number 12. If it sounded “snarky” it wasn’t meant to be. Perhaps I am just to numb.

It was reported that Dutch are bypassing all bureaucracy and sending a plane to Haiti to bring back as many orphans as they can.

This is infuriating!

The kids were held over for 2 days, waiting on Rendell’s photo op !

Same with Hillary Clinton, planes with aid couldn’t land because she had to come have a PR stunt, and bring the ‘diplomats’ mustard, soap and Cigarettes!
Nuttin for the people who need it though.

GRRRRRR

Many people don’t have guilt. Many people see innocent babies and children and want to help them. No matter where they are from, they are defenseless.

You are so right.

The Haitians are scraming at our military, ‘White man GET OUT’.

The money being donated isn’t for help right now. It’s for rebuilding the country later. Clinton’s will be soooo happy.

Infuriating.

"The grandstanding by the POLs is terrible."

Yup...they just get in the way, divert resources to provide for their comfort, security and camera face-time.

In the meantime, their aircraft clog up the horribly inadequate airport, causing diversions of flights of supplies and technical personell.

On FOXnews, a shot showed a Russian AN124 in background...a good thing, it carries a LOT of cargo. BUT it also showed a GV owned by AMWAY...now that HAS to be a loaned a/c for a POL.

A pox on them all.

“Operation Pierre Pan,” as its being called, is an effort to relocate the thousands of children likely orphaned by the natural disaster in Port-au-Prince. Many of the children could already have relatives in Miami and around the U.S.

A similar effort occurred decades ago when “Operation Pedro Pan” was launched to help the children of Cuba during the political upheaval in that island neighbor. Some 14,000 children were relocated to the United States, many of them settling in South Florida
