True-Blue Massachusetts Is Red Alert to Obama: Margaret Carlson
Business Week ^ | January 18, 2010 | Margaret Carlson

Posted on 01/18/2010 6:31:58 PM PST by icwhatudo

Jan. 19 (Bloomberg) -- If Massachusetts, that bluest of blue states, goes Republican, say goodbye (or good riddance) to health-care reform and any chance that the Democrats will be able to pass much of anything in the Senate. Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold will struggle to overcome a filibuster just to get National Cheese Week proclaimed.

"Meanwhile, Brown tooled around the state in a pickup truck airbrushing his red past for a blue electorate, less pro-life and more pro-gay, and claiming that he barely knew who the Tea Partiers were, until a picture showed up of him in their company.

Carlson is full of $hit. The Globe attacked Brown for his shift to the right, but now we are to believe he shifted to the left? The tea Party thing is so bad it should be on Snopes and other Urban legend websites.

Scott Brown is not pro-life. Is there a good reason to celebrate a pro-choice
republican win? Are there people here who would rather see him lose because he
is not “pure” on abortion issue?

Carlson is a joke. Another reason I cancelled BW years ago because it was a lefty magazine like Fortune (Time Warner).

Did Bloomberg buy BW from McGraw Hill because thanks to hope & change it was dead? This was a few months ago.

Democratic Governor Jon Corzine’s loss in New Jersey, and Republican Bob McDonnell’s win in Virginia, were spun as huge defeats for Obama’s agenda even though they turned on more parochial issues.

Horse feathers!! The MSM can spin it how they want but Va and especially NJ were a rejection of Soetoro. If MA is a win, even better a blowout you'll see a lot of these same dems who say it's not a rejection of Zer0 wee weeing their pants.

Scott Brown is not pro-life.

It's Mass and you won't get any better at this point. It's the first shot in a long war. As both parties see a conservative ascendancy, you'll start to see a better crop of candidate in the GOP. Clean up the congress, then clean up the GOP, most of all keep the pressure on.

She is so full of bile that it makes me feel good. You note how she took every opportunity to trash Brown including attacking his daughter. Liberal columnists are scum.

Are there people here who would rather see him lose

Surprisingly, yes, there are a few.

But the overwhelming majority can see clearly that a takeover of 1/6 of the US economy is the screaming priority right now so they are solidly in Brown's corner.

(Apparently, these people don't see that if you lose this chance to stop this bill you'll have abortion on the increase under Gov't controlled health care.)

The lackeys of both parties hate the Tea Party movement.

I would think that the concept might have a special resonance in Massachussetts.

Aye, nests before eggs.

Kind of like win independence from Britain, then deal with slavery.

I not thrilled by the fact that he's not pro-life, but he's a darn sight LESS pro-abortion than Martha Coakley. She's tried to paint him as a radical right winger because he favors restrictions on abortion, and he's AGAINST partial birth abortion.

This is a strategic election, and it will be good to have Scott in the Senate to put the brakes on Obama's plans to take over this country,

Scott Brown is not pro-life. Is there a good reason to celebrate a pro-choice republican win?

1. Brown is the kiss of death for healthcare.

2. There are only two candidates in this race. One is nominally pro-choice, but favors limitations on the practice. The other is rabidly pro-abortion, favors public funding of abortion and would be leading the cheering section at a partial birth abortion.

So, yeah, there's ample reason to celebrate a pro-choice Republican win.
