LOS ANGELES A storm moving through Central and Southern California has brought high winds, waves and lightning, prompting a tornado warning and pier closures. Los Angeles County firefighters report minor street and building flooding in some areas of Los Angeles County on Tuesday but there are no reports of major damage or injuries.
Officials shut down piers in Ventura, Seal Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach because of 15-foot waves. Shortly after 12:30 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for south-central Los Angeles County because of a fast-moving thunderstorm. That warning expired at 1:15, but one issued slightly after 1 was continued until 2 p.m.in Orange County, including the cities of Anaheim, Fullerton, Irvine, Santa Ana, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach.

It was pretty crazy. House in Newport Beach near me had a corner ripped off. Trains were all stopped. It is a mess and, we have two more storms to go this week.
I hope Yoggi’s boo boo is ok
I saw lightning hit the road, with heavy rain, here in Hollywood near Santa Monica. The drivers who were at the stoplight including myself, just looked at each other..
It was pretty wild! Real thunder and lightning.
I wish we didn’t get our entire year’s rainfall in one week.
Massechusetts is about to be taken over by a Repunlican!
You guys better batten down the hatches out there.
Any reports coming in from Dan Rather??
You know you're from California if...
...It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH."
.....It's barely sprinkling rain outside, so you leave for work an hour early to avoid all the weather-related accidents.
I thought the Karl Rove weather machine was shut down after Bush left office.
I’m going to make my own backyard tornado. This is a great time for a jacuzzi soak. 102 degree water on a cold rainy day. Only downside is you cant smoke a cigar in the rain.
I hope you weather the storms in one piece I’ll add that to my prayers.
Here in Tustin, in the Tornado Warning Zone, the wind felled a Eucalyptus tree into the office parking lot, damaging at least four parked cars that I could see.
Had a tree go done in the park 100 feet away, smashed a picnic table. Well, we needed a new one anyway.
the tree killed the table but, it was next to the basketball court and it twisted the backboard and hoop 25 degrees so now instead of facing the opposite hoop, it is facing the far corner.
Cool picture
Hey Dems! Can you tax or regulate this tornado thing out of existence too?
Hey,...this is serious stuff out here.
