Ted Poe: "Obamacare is Dead"
KTRH (Houston) | 1/20/2010 | self

Posted on 01/20/2010 7:57:32 AM PST by brickdds

U.S. Congressman Ted Poe (R-Houston/Beaumont)was on KTRH (Houston) this morning. He said that he had spoken with "moderate democrats", and reports that they are saying that healthcare is dead. It seems that there are a few House dems who have gotten the message. With their own election looming in less than 10 months, perhaps they are now more frightened of their constituents than Nancy Pelosi. Their may be a fracture developing in their party. With statements like this coming out, along with what Webb and Bayh said the reality is starting to sink in with the pragmatic ones that a message has been sent and a mandate from the people delivered. This was more eloquently delivered by Scott Brown last night, and now we will have someone in Washington with a bigger set than the collective GOP "leadership". It started in VA and NJ, now MA...... without the use of hyperbole, it is impossible to describe the meaning of the conservative victory. Now it is time to clean up our OWN house. McCain, Graham, Collins, Snowe and the rest of the rinos take notice: your days are numbered. If Scott Brown can take "Ted Kennedy'S seat", a conservative can take yours.

I believe this brings us one-step closer to Moderate Dems leaving and starting their own party.

Juan McCain and his pocket pal Miss Lindsay Graham-nesty are despicable people.

You certainly can’t ignore the middle ground, moderate right, moderate left, & independent voters - they’re fickle and don’t give a damn for partisan party lines.

The people wanted a uniter, and government conducted out in the open sunshine - they’re getting the middle finger and a holier than thou juggernaut.

The middle ground voters are never solidly in anyone’s camp - the Dems just re-learned that lesson.

What’s even more amazing....many cities had voter turnout over 60 percent in Massachusetts....with the state average at 55 percent.

Even with such insanely high turnout well beyond all the poll estimates, Brown still won by 5 points.

I think the Brown surge brought more Dems out just because they got scared. Honestly, if this was Friday instead of Tuesday, I think Brown would have won by over 10 percent, an incredible blowout.

That’s not to take anything away from the win....it was a massive win, and the only reason I point that out is to say that the turnout was so high and yet he still won....

Beyond amazing.

“The news reports and the Politico are saying Sarah may campaign for McCain. I do not believe it but if she does - add her to the list of RINOs.”

Sarah needs to tread very delicately here. While she can have some cover by being loyal to the one that showed her the national stage, it should only be after the primary IF McLame knocks off Hayworth (should he run), and then only cameos - or maybe back out having changed her mind (my preference).

She should certainly back out of AZ campaigning just now, imho.

“Mad Money” Cramer said the stock market would go up if Brown was elected.

Cramer is wrong. The market is down 200 points.

The stock market does not like uncertainty and at this point we do not know Healthcare is definitely dead.

As bad as we felt after November 2008, it always amazes me how eventually the people’s will is what counts the most. It appeared to me for most of last year that they were going to be able to ram this through against the people’s wishes. Yet, the people always find a way to get their way. Obama needs to look at the Declaration of Independence again (if there ever was a first time)

Governments are instituted amongst men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed

The Republican party NOW has a leader.
It reminds me of that commercial with Charlie Daniels playing the fiddle furiously, boot stomping and all. Then handing it off to the fellow beside him saying “That’s how you do it son”.
Take note GOP: THAT’S HOW IT’S DONE!!

“God bless the people of Massachusetts.”

The patriots of Massachusetts refuse to don the yoke so carefully crafted for them.

Just when you think they have been beaten into submission, a few hundred thousand Massachusetts patriots step out from behind the trees with the modern day equivalent of loaded muskets. In one coordinated volley, the oppressors go down hard.

God Bless America the patriots of Massachusetts

This is getting so interesting. Their left wing base is going to be livid but the conservative Tea Party base will cause the most damage if they decide to pass this. This is a nightmare scenario for the Dems.

Obama has just become the most impotent President in only 1 year. God has a funny sense of humor (Olympics, global warming, health care and on and on).

The absolute worst President in my lifetime and probably in everyone’s lifetime.
