“He also just said, to paraphrase: a basic health care plan for everyone is necessary.”

“Romneycare! It’s OK because it’s not Obamacare and it’s endorsed by Conservatives!”

Perhaps, but the Dems are in disarray about his election, which has changed the balance of power in DC. The Dems are faced with some very difficult decisions on Obamacare, none of them good. They are in a lose-lose situation.

Hope they’re nasty-faced lawyers...

Yeah... one of those pot-marked faced lawyers that looks like
Wayne Hugenza (Waste Management and Miami Dolfins Owner)

A real nasty-faced lawyer. I love it

Can someone who has more skills than I post a pic of Wayne Hunguez

I think he's there already.

He may well be a RINO, but he’s about as far right as you’ll get elected in Massachusetts right now. The trend, at least, is in the right direction. Let’s see what he does.

He seems more interested in meeting with John Kerry and Barack Obama than working with Mitch McConnell and the GOP leadership.

Mr. Brown here is your first realization lesson.

The Dems do not like you. None of them. They do not want you there. They do not think you belong there. They do not want to be your friend unless you get down on your knees in front of them and do their bidding.

You will be safer french-kissing rattlesnakes than trying to befriend any Dem.

Do not throw away the responsibility that has been given you by ignoring all those who gave it to you.

Agreed. But at this moment in history, you will not see an amendment to abolish Roe v Wade. It’s just not going to happen as much as you and I would like to see it. Brown’s election is super important because it STOPS or SETS BACK the current marxist agenda.

Long term, I’m thinking everything in this country will change once it becomes obvious to everyone that spending cuts are mandatory. And I’m not just talking little cuts here and there, I’m talking about half or more of the entire government budget. We are going to lose a lot of government - even stuff that people on this site hold near and dear. Roe v Wade in my opinion will no longer be relevant due to the fact that this country is bankrupt - the reality of it hasn’t set in yet - when it does, I think you can count on it eventually being repealed one way or another. Keep your eye on the ball. Long term, the current game cannot continue to be played the way it is now...

Unbelievable. A Republican just won Ted Kennedy's former Senate seat on a platform that consisted almost exculisively of - 41st vote against health care, trying terrorist in military tribunals and waterboarding them when necessary, and reducing spending and cutting taxes, and yet you're not impressed.

Dude, Congress can't pass bills to overturn Supreme Court interpretations of the constitution. Any reasonably honest congressman would vote against such a "bill".

The test will come when he votes on a President's Supreme Court nominee. Thanks in no small part to momentum from Senator Brown's campaign in Massachusetts, That appointment may come from a conservative president.

Thanks for update- am working lurking ...

He seems a man who knows his own mind and I can respect that. The problem is what happens to them after they drink water in the District for a couple of weeks. Let’s hope he brings his own bottled water ;)

Hard to find anyone who thinks Health care is not broken. Its one screwed up market and MOST everyone agrees something must be done.

1. If you have serious health problems (no fault of your own) insurance is not available at any cost.

2. Insurance companies dominate certain markets and not across state lines.

3. Insurance companies enjoy special laws that protect their business.

4. Prescription drugs are cheaper in other countries and you are not allowed to import.

If 50% of your registered voters are “Independent” , you want to be “independent.” — Not “An Independent” but certainly an independent person, an independent thinker, a supporter of the Declaration of INDEPENDENCE. Think Hannity’s opening music: “INDEPENDENCE DAY”

You’re correct. I was not impressed by the pie-in-the-sky idealism he expressed in his press conference. The questions from the media didn’t help (”as an independent, how will you blahblahblah...”), yet Mr. Brown came across as somebody that I would normally call a “Blue Dog” Democrat. We’ll see...
