Hope they’re nasty-faced lawyers...

Then will who will be able to tell the difference between them from the democrats?

I agree. Bad fruit will wither on the vine with no gov spending to force it/prop it up/maintain it.

I’d say reduced by half is optimistic. Actually, I want gov spending to be reduced by more than half. There is very little the fedgov should be doing, main thing is the military.

I can tell you this, if a bill comes up to abolish Roe v Wade as unConstitutional garbage, Senator Brown will vote against it.

I can tell YOU this, with your PURE AS ME attitude, all you do is drive off everyone who might agree with you on 98% of all other issues, including those relating to Life.

"Reagan Man"? Reagan was once pro-abort, too.

The only way to get rid of Roe v. Wade is to have USSC judges confirmed who are strict constructionists -- whatever their personal feelings about abortion. There are strict constructionists who personally favor abortion and just don't think it's a constitutional right, and there are "loose" constructionists adamantly opposed to abortion.

Brown is at least in favor of such things as parental notification, a ban on partial birth abortion and "conscience clause" protection for health care workers -- all of which AFAIK can be affected by legislation!

Why? Because he is a "Scott Brown Republican".

Put the Coakley sign down and step away from the car.

The choices were Coakley or Brown. We absolutely got the best of the deal. Sorry you can't enjoy it.

You're far too pessimistic. You don't sound like a pro-life conservative either.

>>>>>Roe v Wade can't be overturned by the Congress.

That is true, but a Right to Life amendment like the one Reagan promoted in the early '80`s, or a Sanctity of Life Act as was cosponsored by Rep. Steve Stockman and by Rep. Barbara Cubin in the House in 1995, would make Roe v Wade null and void.

You do agree Roe v Wade is unConstitutional. Don't you?

Brown is an abortion proponenet and stands on the side of abortion rights 99.5% of the time. That is not my idea of someone conservatives should be defending.

maybe you want to change your little nickname there, sport: "The personal attacks against me during the primary finally became so heavy that the state Republican chairman, Gaylord Parkinson, postulated what he called the Eleventh Commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican. It's a rule I followed during that campaign and have ever since." -- Ronald Reagan

"Still sounds like a liberal-rino."

This is what Scott Brown said in his victory speech last night...

"And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation - they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them."

Does that sound like Graham, Snowe or Collins or a "liberal RINO"?

Brown need to do his best to represent the people of Massachusetts, who as a whole are a far cry from the majority of people around here. If all Senators, such as Ben Nelson, were to properly represent the people of their state, this country would be a lot better off. I never thought I would see a Republican elected to Senate from Massachusetts in my lifetime. Even if he is more moderate than most of us, he has to be, because those are the people that he represents. I understand the position of the purists around here, but it simply doesn’t jive with political reality. Take the small victories where you can get them and ANY kind of Republican out of New England is a bonus, moderate or not. I think many people fail to remember that the majority of the country IS politically moderate/conservative and person like Brown is palatable to them.

Swimming in the sea of libs he has for
many decades, it seems he’s learned how
to strike the right tone for collegiality,
but I am SO impressed with his SPUNK.

He doesn’t shrink from controversy or
hard debate.

He spoke again about the terrorists and
the struggle our brave troops face, and
God bless him for keeping that subject
front and center.

He didn’t hesitate to relate how he
came right back at 0 on the phone call
about the truck. Imagine that .. you’re
on the phone with the (p)resident of the
United States, and you’re NOT intimidated
and a blubbering idiot. And he laughed
at what he did himself again in the presser ..
proud of it.

I give him a lot of kudos for that chutzpah.
He’ll need it.

Like I said, I think he’s really quite
an unusual cat .. ;)

“Still sounds like a liberal-rino.”

You MIGHT be overstating, but I see it this way. We needed Scott Brown now to kill ObamaCare. Once that’s complete, he needs to show us he’s worthy of the office he’s been elected to. If not, we work to dump him in three years.

We need to keep heat on and remind him that palling around with McCain and Mitt ain’t in his political best interest.

I can tell you this, if a bill comes up to abolish Roe v Wade as unConstitutional garbage, Senator Brown will vote against it.
He also just said, to paraphrase: a basic health care plan for everyone is necessary. That is none of your business, Senator.

And he thinks very highly of John Kerry and John McCain. Why? Because he is a “Scott Brown Republican”.

Still sounds like a liberal-rino.

Would you have preferred the alternative ?

and some here are trying to characterize him as a rino -- even as, at this very moment, brit hume is on the air noting that brown combines the fiscal policies of reagan and the war on terror policies of gwb. sheesh.
