Im going to need some Advil and a cold compress, please. Im the Massachusetts Electorate, and I have what is bar none the absolute worst hangover of my entire voting life...Think, Electorate, think. What did I do?
This much Im starting to remember. Martha and I walked into the party and everything seemed to be going fine. She wasnt talking much, but she never really does, and she wasnt exactly pushing me to bare my soul, either...
And now Im vaguely recalling that stranger across the room, the one in the barn jacket who kept smiling at me and seemed to know my name. Martha vanished for a while, and - is it bad that Im saying this? - I didnt really care. Suddenly, that tall, handsome man was standing at my side doing something that Martha rarely did - offering to pay for drinks, chatting me up, curious what was on my mind...
Scott! That was his name. Lived near the outlet stores. Talked a lot about being smarter with money. I know, not like Martha, who always had some expensive home renovation project up her sleeve.
And then, I remember that time itself seemed to stop...We were on the dance floor, Scott and I, moving to the music, his hands all over my body politic. Everyone was watching, and I mean everyone - fellow partygoers, bartenders, passersby staring in the windows. Look at me, the Massachusetts Electorate, the bellwether of America!
I think I took my shirt off. I think I didnt care. I remember something about Scott in a pair of Calvin Klein jockey shorts, but it may have been a picture he showed me from his wallet...

Yeah, take some Midol too ya pansy.
I read this earlier. You need to put a waring for this story. It was truly the sickest thing I ever read in the Globe.
the amount of lies the globe did about Brown was disgusting and I hope the poeple of MA stop buying that liberal rag.
Well, he may have the physical attributes...
I suspect this Nancy-boy is the offspring of the late and unlamented ultra-lefty columnist Mary McGrory.
This is sick.
the globe did everything they could to stop Brown form winning so expect more lies about him over the next two years form the globe
sad part is that some will buy into their crap
I thought it was pretty funny. Sorry you were offended. But really, this is the most entertaining article the droning, preachy, boring, predictable Globe has published in several years.
They are cousins.
I nearly puked at the article
You know what would make me feel better, just looking at Senator Browns old Cosmo spread. It does the heart good. He’s still quite a looker.
Did you hear Chrissy Matthews discussing Brown’s masculinity? I think he was gettin’ another tingle and it wasn’t in his leg.
Rush really hit this lame article today for using date rape as a metaphor for Scott Brown’s victory.
They don’t know why they’re going broke.
What actually happened was that the electorate
woke up with the hangover and their butt hurts
because because they didn’t realize that they
had gotten in to bed with an ideological pervert
until now and they need to be tested for political
THIS was written by a man??? Yikes.
This may be the first shot in the strategery to tear Brown to shreds before his re-election in 2012.
Hammers date rape and buyer’s remorse, hangover regrets, and implies a big mistake.
I expect a Palin treatment for him for the next 24 months.
If he’s still strong and organized then, he’ll be a threat to Rep. Frank (D).
Laugh. Out loud kind.
I thought it was pretty funny as well. Couple of parts drew an outright chuckle. I figure if they are going to self-flagellate for my enjoyment, they should do it with a bit of cleverness.
My first thought, as well ... author appears to be a flaming faggot.
So lame he read the ENTIRE THING, OUT LOUD, on air! He thought it was funny, too.
How does this tear him to shreds? Only if you take it seriously, which even the author does not. It is what passes for satire in Democratic circles. It is funny. As I said a couple of days ago about Andrew Sullivan (very geh), their knickers are not just in a twist, their knickers are in a Mobius strip of despair. Hence articles like this.
Too much information!
hahaha! i think it’s funny!
“Yes! The men have Sarah.”
and all those other bikini threads
I don’t think THIS article is tearing him to shreds. I do think it may set a tone.
Buyer’s remorse, stupid mistake, hangover regrets.
Yes it’s satire, of a sort, an attempt to explain the world turning upside down. It’s “funny” in a lefty way. I think you are correct in that it’s the product of despair. To the Glob there is no way to explain the election results as a collective rational decision.
So true. It's very cleverly written and made me laugh out loud. I'm afraid some of our fellow Freepers have a limited appreciation of irony and allegory.
Thank goodness I stopped listening to that girlie man ages ago.
