Coakley's Loss: Pie in the President's Face
The Nation ^ | January 20, 2010 | William Greider

Posted on 01/20/2010 1:37:56 PM PST by matt1234

Barack Obama went to Boston to rally voters and got a pie in the face. He lost his innocence as the valiant young president and also lost his sixty-vote majority in the Senate. Now we will find out what the man is made of--either a true political leader or just another show horse. Dozens of explanations are being offered for why the Dems were humiliated in Massachusetts. Democrats incline to grab easy answers. The president, if he is tough enough, will instead face the hard message of this political fiasco.

The special election displayed monumental miscalculations by which Obama has governed, both in priorities and political-legislative strategies. It may seem perverse and unfair, but the president's various actions for reform generated a vaguely poisonous identity.

Thunderbirds “Tuff Enuff”

Ain’t that tough enough
Ain’t that tough enough
Ain’t that tough enough
Ain’t that tough enough

For you, baby
I would swim the sea
Nothing I’d do for you
That’s too tough for me

Dozens of explanations are being offered for why the Dems were humiliated in Massachusetts.

One reason is Coakley's cluelessness. But her campaign started to fall apart when Reid was buying votes in the senate:

Unfortunately for him his rhetoric does not jibe with his governance. And also unfortunately for him, the American people recognized that in a short year.

Waiting to see if Obama changes is a waste of time and only gives him the opportunity to ram his policies through. (Much like giving an enemy time to reload.)

Where are all the obama followers who once asked, “Where my pie at, foo’?” Now they know where to find it at (sic).

“...just another show horse....”?

Got the horse part right.

Now, instead of “show”, perhaps you might want to consider the opposite of the eating end.......take that word....and place it after “horse”.

If the Obamaloon were a “scientist,” he’d be a climate “scientist”.

“He lost his innocence as the valiant young president...” Oh my GOD, is THIS a wide open invitation for comment! I mean, “innocent as a $2 whore; valiant as John Kerry wounding HIMSELF....” It’s really TOO EASY!!

Obama’s track record for bringing home the bacon really sucks:

1. Chicago Olympics—no way Jose
2. Virginia Governor—nope
3. New Jersey Governor—nada
4. Copenhagen Climate Treaty—nei
5. Massachusetts Senator-—fifth time is the charm-—sorry bozo, try again.

By about this time if I had been rejected as many times as Obama, I would be checking my armpits to see if my deodorant had failed me.

“innocent as a $2 whore; valiant as John Kerry wounding HIMSELF....”

Don’t ever ask the media to report the facts - it would destroy their world view. Instead of “innocent” I think the word they meant to use was “a little slow”. Man, once the media picks their template, no amount of facts will change their ivy leagued opinion: innocence and valiant. Wow.
